I was given a link

http://www.displatec.com.br/produtos.asp?menu=produto&pagina=0&ctrl=1
to investigate. Bottom of the page there is a marea 20vt setup (which should fit our cars) and its twin disk (from what I gather)
Anyone familiar with this company?
A couple of powerful 20vts down here are thinking about it.

Cheers

V.

well - IIRC, there are tow HUGELY powerful 20VTs engines in Brasil (both in Mareas I think) - well over 600bhp, so I guess they have access to some serious clutch technology

Might be worth trying to get hold of the owners to ask - their details are in the Hall of Fame

Mine Helix was a bit over a grand all in but I expect this will be less. How usable it is will be the other question, as mine is pretty decent compared to many other twin plates I have used.

Yes, speak Portuguese in Brazil.

Hi, I'm from Brazil, got a Fiat Marea 20VT with 667cv at the wheels and 74kgfm of torque, is currently the most powerful 20VT of Brazil.

I already used Displatec clucthes and did not have success, not suported the hi torque.

I use a clutch I developed in conjunction with the Freyomáquinas Special Clutches, a company similar to the Displatec here in Brazil.

This is a kit with reversal of the system, push type becomes, double membrane and 1600lbs, disc with 6 ceramic inserts without springs, the bearing and the parts needed to reverse the system are the Alfa 164 12V, Support of the cylinder and forks.

Most 20VT forged over 500cv and 60kgfm of Brazil use this kit and endorsing, is currently our best clutch.

Its all plug and play, you do not have any difficulty to mount, easy, and fully supported the 74kgfm of torque, and support up to 85kgfm estimate.

This kit here in Brazil expense + or - USD $ 800.00 dollars.

Pics of clucth kit:

A hug
Mathew.

Mathew, thanks for the info and pics
How ON-OFF is the feel of this thing? No springs doesn't sound very smooth getting the car moving...
Could you please explain?

Same to you Kenneth, are there springs on the disk, is it smooth or very on-off?

Cheers

The springs on the disk you would soften vibration, but the discs with springs that were still wearing broken very easily, the springs create wear very quickly and fall off, then we have done a disc without springs and incredible as it seems he has less vibration in time to start with the car, was softer and did not break more. I drive my car on a daily and the clucth is behaving perfectly and smoothly, no ON/OFF.

I think this kit you can develop equal, using the same parts, if need any more tips I provide you with no problems!

Cheers
Mathew.

I just looked at the Displatec site and saw that they have Embreagem Cerâmica for Marea Turbo 20.0 20v.
Is this a Cerametallic plate? How many pads? 6?
Do you know if anyone in Brazil has used this clutch kit?

Best regards
Freddan

Good morning everyone,

Starting today, we from Displatec are greatfull to enjoy this forum with you. You can ask any questions about our products directly to our company, we are here to help and not let any dought about our clutchs and twin clutchs.

Our clutchs are made to support 80kgfm of torque or more if it is necessary.

We have cerametallic discs with 4 or 6 pads or sintered-metallic discs with 6 pads. To marea we have twin disc clutch (Multdisc Clutch) with carbon cerametallic pads.

We are thankfull to participate in this forum and i'm sorry if i made any english mistake.

Waiting a answer.

Respectfully,
Displatec Team.

Hi Displatec,

Welcome to FCCUK! \:\)

I have a Fiat Coupe 2.0 20v turbo
I need some info about cerametallic discs. How is it different from a organic disc?
How much torque can the 6 pad cerametallic clutch hold?
How much torque can the 6 pad sintered-metallic clutch hold?

Do you sell complete kit (pressure plate, disc & bearing)?

How much for shipping to Europe?

Good evening Freddan

The cerametallic disc have a coefficient of friction higher than the organic disc so it can support more touch and adjusted with a higher pressure on the cover diaphragm spring it can work efficienttly with a stronger car.

The 6 pad disc can hold a higer touch than a 4 pad because it has a higher contact area. The sintered-metallic have a coefficient of friction higher than the cerametallic.

A cerametallic disc with a 980lbs cover cluth and a 6 pad disc can hold a 400cv or 394 hp.

Our Multidisc clutch can hold a 1000cv car 986hp, we assembly it with cerametallic disc or sitered-metallic disc.
In the pictures below we show our Multdisc:

http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/7778/multdiscbottonav4.jpg

I don't know if i'm allowed to say prices on the forum, if anyone say that ok, i will say it.

Thank you for the question.

Respectfully
Displatec Team.

Hi there and welcome.

What clutch would you recommend for running 400-450bhp?

Also how much would it cost?

Thanks.

Good afternoon paddy,

The perfect clutch for your need is a cerametallic disc with 6 pads and a 980lbs cover cluth. Our disc had a special waster heat that don't let it warp.

I don't know yet if i can say openly the price so i will send you it by particular messagem.

Could you tell me your contry just to calculate the delivery ?

Best regards,

Good evening,

In the first few miles it judder a little bit, because this is inherent to the cerametalic material. But after this you won't fell this little judder anymore.

hi there,

slightly confused, you mean that the judder goes away, or that you get used to it?

can I have a PM with prices for a twin plate setup good for 600bhp please?
Also another quote for what Paddy wants ;\)
Delivery to Athens, Greece

and before it gets a bit too much, I don't think its a problem stating prices in the forum, is there Mr & Ms MoDs?

Cheers

In the CDM (Club of Marea) I am not aware of any Marea Turbo using this kit, so I can not give you more details unfortunately.

Most of the Mareas 20VT in the CDM use the same clutch kit of my car.

Good evening Freddan,

It's hard to say how many cars use our clutch and multidisc clutch kit, because the are many. What we don't know is if all of them are membership of Marea Club. One of them that we know that participate and use our clutch kit is Fabi_ny from Motortech.

I hope we help.

Best Regards,
Displatec Team.

Our clutch kit (clutch cover 980lbs + 6 pads disc, without the bearing)is U$ 465,00 + delivery (depends the contry,15 days).

It would stay easy to trigger and won't be be too hard to use in city traffic at slow speed, clearly won't be soft as the original one but will not be uncomfortable to use.

In the few miles it judder a little bit, because this is inherent to the cerametalic material, after this the disc will start "building" with the flywheel and the clutch cover.

Our Multidisc clutch kit (clutch cover with 800lbs + 2 discs with 4 carbon cerametalic pad, without the bearing)is U$ 1047,00 + U$ 190,00 (delivery, 15 days), you won't need any flywheel you screw it in the crankshaft.

You won't need any modifications to fit it and this one is easy to trigger as the original. I hope i've asnwered the questions.

Best regards,
Displatec Team.
