This arrived today and I must say,the FMIC does look very good.
Have to say though, the thought of bolting a million pipes together and trying to fit it behind the bumper is frightening.
Anybody know if there is an idiots guide to fitting this bit of kit crazy
Thanks,
Paul

Back on topic crazy
Just checked the kit out and the FMIC outlets are 3 inch and all the silicon hoses steel pipework supplied are 2.5 inch.
This does not sound right to me.......there is no way any of the hoses will fit over the FMIC outlets.
Help.

I have made the bracket today and plan on fitting the FMIC without pipework over the weekend (have 2 reducers missing).
If it is ok,I will put up drawings with dimensions of the bracket and maybe later a "how to do".
See how it goes.

Here is the bracket I made today in work (in my spare time ;)).
If it fits,I will post dimensions.....which I could have done with before taking the grill off to measure up but there you go.......lol.
The spray is a no no on mild steel and maybe better off with thicker stuff from a pot.

I will get some proper paint tomorrow but the engineering is spot on mate.

Not done it yet mate.
Made the bracket out of 25mmx6mm flat.
I am still waiting for the 2 reducers they forgot to put in the kit so I will just fit the FMIC and cut the bumper and refit ready.
I will then put it on ramps and sort it out then......I will be roughing up the ends of the pipes with a file though.
When I did the same with my mr2 turbo, the pipes blew off and had to get the AA out......that WILL not be happening again matey.

do not take it under the radiator support like many people have unless you don't go over speed bumps

I did do a post bout fitting one. because i wanted some help when i was fitting mine but was takeing off lol. anyway.. i done what leon 1 said and put my pipe under the radiator support not the best place to put because i have got speed bumps down my road so have to go over them a bit slow. but happy with the kit.

I have given up with these and will pay lots more to get a coupe specific FMIC and you may ask why ?
I bought the kit from ebay and when it came,it had the 2 reducers missing, which RMJ kindly pointed out.
Got hold of them and they realised the mistake and would send them out so no big deal.
Checked kit again and the 2 U bends were missing.
I contacted them and was told that there are plenty of of bends included without the U bends to do the job crazy
I replied that I would prefer the U bends as they were shown in their ad and it would save me chopping even more pieces up.
Reply.....wherehouse is empty of U bends.
I know it is a cheap (over £200) piece of kit but you expect to get what they show in the picture.
I have now asked,nicely for a refund.

i'd just make do with what you have and ask them to knock some money off as its not advertised correctly. Depends if you have the money to spend on a pro alloy as its a big price hike.

I did accept the problem with the reducers Leon, that was no big deal but when I was told to cut up a couple of 90's to make a U bend.....I lost it.
It is not the easiest of Kits to fit (even with the correct U bends) and I can use tools mate but I did not want to spend any longer chopping up more pieces than I had to.
I paid for the kit that was in the picture,U bends included (you saw the mail) and was told to make do with the bits they sent me.
Not good enough with me mate......you pay good money....you want the goods you pay for.

I've had trouble with a Turborevs FMIC also, the package arrived missing the two 180-degree hard pipes, seller claimed he'd sent two extra 90-degree ones, which he hadn't, offered to order them in for me and email a picture, which never happened.
It was also missing the clamps to secure the two reducers to the 3-inch outlets, and there is a fair bit of denting to the intercooler core itself, enough that I'm not confident that it'll hold pressure.
The seller's response was minimal and unsatisfactory, he's now telling me to send it back, which I will, but according to his Ebay info I'll have to pay the postage (which may be the case for Ebay but it's unacceptable for a defective item) and "admin" costs, which I can only assume is extra profit for him, as how much "admin" is involved in receiving a parcel?
I'm hugely unhappy with my purchase, and would advise anyone to avoid this seller like the plague, item would be suitable if it was undamaged and contained all the item described, but it wasn't and didn't.
I've seen at least one other thread on here where people have had similar problems.

The seller is now insisting that the kit is complete, I'm in the process of getting Ebay to resolve it, and he's reverted to lying by saying that nothing is missing, despite the fact that he admitted to me via Ebay's message service that they were missing and offered to send a picture of the replacements he was going to order.

He's now refusing to acknowledge the missing items, and is trying to get me to send it back, which will cost me the price of postage plus his "admin" cost, I can only assume that he's doing this because he can sell it to someone else, and make a bit of extra profit out of me from this "admin" charge.

I decided to keep mine as it was too much hassle to send it back and it would have cost me a packet.
He did eventually send me the reducers that were missing but still have to butcher up a few 90's to make a couple of U bends.
It is a good kit though all the same.
I am still trying to get the correct U bends so have not given up yet.
Can you post a picture of your damaged cooler.....my one was fine ?

I can't take a picture of it as it's at my parents house, it's not hugely damaged, just dented on the front in a few places, rough handling I guess, it was pretty poorly packaged.
If you want I can take one at the weekend when I go there next?
I'm trying to get the clamps and pipes now, if he's not willing to send them then I'll ask Ebay to step in and deal with it, as he's obviously decided to be deliberately difficult, terrible customer service!

I am in work now but later,I will take a picture of all the gear I recieved so you have a better idea of what parts of your kit are missing mate.
The dents on the cooler are probably just the fins so if that is the case, should still be ok.

I should say the intercooler works fine, a touch on the heavy side but it cools just as well as a Pro Alloy.

Thanks for that mate, it'll be helpful to know what exactly is missing! I did receive everything in the picture except for the u-bends and the clamps, but it'll be interesting to see if I'm missing anything else (and if you are)
The dents are on the fins (I think) so hopefully that'll be ok, I'm just appalled by the complete lack of service, especially from someone who seems to sell a lot of products on this forum, you'd think reputation would be important to the guy, apparently not!

All done glad to say although without the U bends,it did have to be lashed a bit but because it is booked in with Leighton next, had no choice.I will get it all sorted later though.
Also had to get an alloy rad fitted....it is never ending smile

why are them hoses no good to you? If they are the turbo side of things and you only have an hybrid they should still fit.

Which route did you take for cooler to turbo

I have taken a U bend from the reducer and angled it infront of the intercooler and upwards also, so it fits in the large recess where you're number plate is, then a straight section downwards then the rest you can work out.

This is a longer route to the turbo but you do not have any clearance issues, also flea said it didn't affect the spool up on my old hybrid turbo

Have a look at my PA IC. The right pipe goes from turbo to intercooler and the left one goes from IC to throttle.

Can't you mount the pipe behind the IC as seen in picture ?

As above, is because the exit o. The left hand side of the pro alloy is higher up and curved where as the turbo revs is straight and pretty much at the bottom. Just about to load up some pics of my new set up!

290 is fine mate and will have to wait to get the sheets off Leighton to see the torque
I wanted to hit the magic 300 but will get that when I finally find a stage 3.
I have a blue flame race cat system mate.
I will have to move that pipe though the same as you and Leon have done.

i know the feeling mate, I made 297bhp, was gutted well not really but i wanted the magic 300 too, thats why im going all out this time and getting the car setup with a very healthy engine and decent breathing mods including a stage 3 hybrid.

the last thing I need is either a new 2.75" down pipe or to go all out and get a turbo-back blue flame system.

I was always interested why not use the intercooler with the inlet and outlet on one side! In my car is fitted this intercooler and is very good and one pipe is quite short.

It's hard to remember mate! Long day lol! It was a 90degree pipe, u cut in half u bend and two 90degree blue hoses, oh and a 45degree up to the standard pipe in engine bay and a bit of straight pipe to the actual turbo pipe. Hope that helps! laugh

Please oh please make this a sticky after some editing, the pictures speak a 1000 words and whilst turbo revs arent the flavour of everyone the pics give a good idea of what you have to work with, and just what i needed.
many thanks

Just tried fitting mine, bought it second hand from Joe78. It's too low, the pipe that runs under the rad support is far too low, I can't get it off the drive, left a big dint in the concrete when I tried shocked I'm going to have to route it like RMJ and Leon. Also Joe ran a SIP and thus the right hand pipe has been routed to the inlet where the normal airbox would be. HEADACHE! frown
I notice everyone seems to have a straight bit of metal to use to mount the I/C onto the metal just under the slam panel. Did this come with the kit? as I don't have anything similar, just two rectantular pieces of metal that don't seem to fit anywhere confused

Coopless!

Here is how I did mine:

Turborevs FMIC mounted, did a couple of adjustments to pipework and here is the end result, also find out that my S turbo hose had a large cut,so I did replace it with one 90 degre elbow and the leftover of the original hose.
Oil and water temps dropped down dramatically, car spools up pretty good considering that it is a rather large FMIC,at 3000rpm over 1bar boost.

Thanks for those photos Al_Galone, I am sorely tempted. Don't think it will make much of a difference with STD turbo though.(apart from more lag). frown

I know this is an old thread but it has greatly helped me with fitting my Turborevs inter-cooler. Thought I would update it to say I bought this 180 deg silicone bend...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLUE-SILICONE-...=item43a7d34e55

This additional bend allowed me to run the pipework the same as the Pace FMIC with no other additional parts needed and not have the need for running the pipework either in front of the FMIC or under the radiator support, which really is too low.

Balls im about to fit my evo inter cooler and it looks like that is a much neater route using the 180 bend I'd rather not go.under the rad for fear of breaking something on a speed bump etc

Am also putting mine in the "very snug" category. Unfortunately the 20VT undertray has a section that comes up a few inches between the radiator and the bumper so had to trim slightly!
