About 25mpg in mixed driving is what I achieved in mine.

Best was 36mpg on a run, worst around 12-15mpg on a backroad blast.

Wrong type of car to be considering if fuel consumption is an issue for you.

30mpg average, as said it depends on how much you use the boost.

30mpg average too on mixed driving with some spirited acceleration onto the Motorway on-ramps twice every day!

That's 370ish miles til the red light comes on with about 8 litres left out of the 63 litre tank.

i found my 20v N/A worse on fuel than the turbo, i drive spirited and get low 20's from the turbo, previously about 18mpg in the N/A.

it is quite easy to get good MPG from the turbo though, staying off boost will retun very good mpg smile

Just got a turbo version, and now I've had it long enough to get some good averages, it gets around 32-35mpg. I drive quickly, but smoothly, and mostly motorways.

My old VIS N/A was around 34-37mpg. I managed 500 miles off one tank on one occasion, but it was a very boring week of driving!

Others have posted very variable mpg's in the past. I guess it depends on what mods you have, and condition of all sorts of things. Still pretty good economy considering the performance smile

Haha, I love how people are saying things like "it returns good mileage if you keep it off boost".

Why would you buy a Coupé to then constantly drive it off boost?!

If you're after fuel economy, get something else. If you're after something which looks good and goes quick without costing the Earth to buy, and still returns 'sensible' mpg given the performance, then get a Coupé.

With mixed driving I get 300-350 miles out of a full tank of V-Power, though my car isn't standard. Given the performance, I think that's very reasonable.

My coop does 115miles in city traffic for 30quid=30liters of petrol which works out 17.43mpg.Boost on all time after it heats up. I think its all right as before i had few alfas 2.0 T.sparks and they only manage 23mpg - Im talking 100%city driving (sometimes heavy traffic).

I forgot to mention my coop is 100% standard.

Mines running standard apart from a cone filter, cat back system and gtec 1 and i can see around 30mpg, sometimes slightly more if i take it easy.

However......a bit of right foot can change all this!

I tend to do really well and bore my self for a few days driving sensibly, then i go and undo all my hard work by giving it a b road blast on the way home from work laugh I see around 15-18 mpg with hard driving rolleyes but like others say, this seems to be better than the jap stuff of similar wink

Don't have to constantly drive it off boost, but the trudge up the motorway to the lakes, or the trudge to work in the traffic - why not? If you try to go fast it's just stop start anyway.

Once you get to the b roads, or a clear bit of dual carraigeway (the unrestricted german type of course) you can put the smile back on your face smile

Considering its a an old 2.0 petrol car, ive always found it very reasonable, its obviousely not going to be like a smart car but for the type of car its good

If you do a fair bit of motorway miles then you may want to consider getting a 6 speed as they return more miles.

How long's a piece of string? tongue

The reserve on the coupe is around 7ish litres I think or 1.54 gallons.

Depending on your driving; Average around 28 ish mpg to be realistic that'l be 40 ish miles.

All depends on accuracy of your fuel gauge to begin with laugh

Okay, this simply isn't true.

Of course fuel consumption can be an issue when considering a performance car.
It can tip the balance for many of our budgets.

Mid to high teens would be more than I could justify or comfortably afford. Mid to high 20's is acceptable and do-able in my circumstances.

Same is true when it comes to maintaining the car. Theres folk who use the best of the best in terms of fluids and parts and petrol and have no end of bother. And theres people like me who use the cheapest suitable products and parts and have relatively few problems (touch wood).

Its just way too much of a generalisation to say if cost/consumption is an issue then move on, do not pass go, do not collect £200, do not consider a coop.

Have to agree with you here John - they can be costly but not overly so for the car you have at the end of the day

2 Coupes and 5 1/2 years driving and the average has been 28mpg - quite reasonable I think for any performance car.

Even using Mobil 1 oil, the oil cost is still pretty reasonable over a year.

I wouldn't worry about running costs - it's the other things that ' could ' catch you out, that could get expensive. Mechanical failure is a possibility for any car
