Sad thought but maybe a consideration, the coupe is half stripped down and looking very sorry. Its worth loads more in spares and have a feeling wont be able to have the coupe on the road this year unless the gf gets her nursing job.
What to do....so many things just saying get rid, retrive the space on my drive-garage and look for something like a civic type r after xmas, but on the other hand i love fiat coupe. The shape, individuality.speed of a 20vt,interior everything and of course the great forum. Money is the major factor really.

Just makes sense to get rid.

don't give up mate, its a long path, i see it as a hobby more than a mode of getting from a-2-b somthing to tinker with, something to fill a Sunday afternoon

thats it really,i got it just learn and tinker with but it sits there untouched alot longer than i thought it would be originally.I dont need transport as i have a company car so never in the coupe.

I think the problem is taking so much on at once.
I bought the house which needs alot of work as wasnt really touched since 70's and then coupe with millage in the 170's.

Maybe im just having one of those night's where everything is bugging me. Maybe its just that dam manifold stud thats beaten me

its the stud mate, its a crapper of a problem to have to sort out, is it going to get easier after that....probably not laugh

the coupe is a sick and twisted mistress, she is the kind of girl that you take out for a nice drink ends up gets drunk in a pub, falls over, you go to help her up and make sure she is ok, just as you think you may be in with a chance, she turns around and kicks you in the balls, tips her pint over you and walks off

*note, some people may experience there coupe in a different way!

the path is long, but its a well walked, you will meet many other fallen travelers on your detonation to coupe bliss

in other words, snap out of it, this kind of crap happens to every one of us as some point here, tuff it out like a man, it will be fine.

im off to take my special tablets now...

She's an old comfortable girlfriend that you've lived with for years, and eventually married. Sometimes she catches flu, or falls over and needs a new hip joint, but when she comes out of the hospital she remembers why she's there... we manage, we manage...

Last edited by barnacle; 21/04/2009 20:45. Reason: flue?

just waiting for motormech to get back to me.
I thought id think it over a little and tinker with the car.

I sat in the coupe and just realised how much fun it was when i had my previous one on the road.I really shouldnt have sold my sprinty blue.
Felt great just to sit behind the wheel, almost inspiring.its a great spec aswell, wine red,tan leather and carpet,a/c and sunroof.Need to get that bloody stud out then i will feel alot more confident i think

So im keeping the coupe for now it seems...

Tomorrow is crunch time, having a go at removing the stud again tomorrow with some assistance.Removed the bracket that holds the ac pipes so compressor can come well out of the way now. So loadsa space to attempt this...fingers crossed

Good work coupedummy, glad to see your project is coming along and you got that damn stud out.

Good to see someone restoring a coupe rather than breaking it!
