Today I started the process of fitting my Evo 6 FMIC. Thanks to those of you who advised me how to get the bumper off which was a good start
After removing the front bumper and backing foam I found that the IC wouldn't fit in between the shrouds to direct airflow into the aircon rad. So they had to meet an untimely end thanks to some tin snips.
The specs on the intercooler are core size 470w x 290d and 70mm thick
Once they were removed I could sit it in place as shown
Front Overall Looks like it will fit fine - top to bottom distance looks good. Problem was that it is too wide to fit between the chassis rails. So I think, and any advice welcome that I will have to offset it to the factory intercooler side, this means I can use the factory Evo 6 brackets (easier to replace if I even damage it), and the plumbing 2.5" will have to go through where the old plumbing went. I hope this will not get in the way of my straight induction pipe
Front old IC side This then means I can get the other pipes between the chassis rail and the radiator
Front Drivers Side Will keep posting as slow progress is made
And yes the engine has no head - snapped cambelt so thought I would do the whole lot at once
