the cars isn't ment for that is should be a whole package and something you cherish. just going blat out everywhere isn't the be all and end all of cars.
whats else do you like about the coop because if you can think of anything sell it now and save yourself some pain.

i know some of you may not want to read though 8 pages of trouble shooting, so here is the cause

right, deciding if this is the end for the "dark destroyer" after days of chasing though the loom we have indisputable evidence of failer

I suspect the windscreen wiper motor was the original issue, for some reason drawing too much current (possibly sceeved) normally not a issue as the fuse would pop, but as the second fuse was defective
20amps + was alloude to go to town though the system and, well destroy the loom

1st photo is wiper side connections

this is the wire before it goes off behind the bulkhead (zoom out to give you a idear of the area

and this is the damage im looking at, it looks faily consistent and i expect the damage to go on though this though out the rest of the loom

(you can just make out were all the wires have fused togever)

whats worrying even with the fuse poped, there is still 12v going though this line and there shouldnt be

im debating if i want o follow this down the rabbet hole...see how far it goes or just call it a day

can any one tell me exactly were this loom pops back in to were i can see it again?

So its feeding from somewhere it should'nt be, why don't you pull the fuses one by one untill you find where the feed is coming from. Then once you have found what circuit is feeding it you can bell the wires out in the two circuits to see whats shorting/damaged.

Theres a good schematic in the workshop manual to assist you.

Hi dan, admittedly that is one option. With a view to not making anything else worse im reluctent to push 12v back though the system until i have followed and checked the loom as far as i can, if this means i have to take it all the way back to the fuse box i will cry

about a houre a go i finished taking the sound proothing off the back of the bulk head and started to take the insulation of the loom to check for any more damage, i couldn't even find the wire, let alone damage.

i need to re-read the wireing diagram and follow were it goes,

im not even sure what caused all of this to start off with yet, logic would suggest it was the wiper motor but until i pull that out and check it.....

At this point, I'd be inclined to talk to Joe and see how much a new loom is - or at least that section. Might be quicker than trying to be sure you've got all the bits on that one.

i found the problem...no one else was going to! finally traced it back to the wiring from the wiper motor burnt out all the way from the motor to out under the scuttle pannel and in to the loom

Jesus sam, you havnt got any luck at the moment, i feel like you alot of the time at the moment, i feel like setting fire to my car, it seems to have been one problem after another with mine recently, turbos, fuel pump, just when one thing gets sorted and you think your on a problem free run in comes another one. Like everyone said, let joe have the car and im positive he will have it all sorted for ya.

Mine will get sorted too, but i just hope that there is no damage been caused.
