Hi peeps!

My girlfriend has just set up a website selling retro sweets and gifts and I wanted your opinions on the site design and how it works.

Any advice, tips or hints would be gratefully received! I have asked her to set up a discount code so if you do get peckish taking a look and want to order you can save 10%!

http://www.chewbz.com

Cheers peeps!

Dom

the site looks cool!! one thing that springs to mind, there is no kind of indication of the size of the tubes..

I really like the site design and the fact that you've made a good attempt to look healthy by putting in the 'grow your own' section.

i also like the idea of everything being in tubes. Dont know why \:D

I just dont see many retro sweets. Starburst? Flumps? These arent retro. Obviously its a new venture so i'll cut you some slack \:P but as a sweet connoisseur i demand more soon \:D . Wheres the Nerds or Stinger bars, Space Dust etc.

Maybe if you sell Starburst as Opal Fruits it'll keep Truffle happy...

On the page where you get all the thumbnails and you can go in to the detail page, although you can generally see from the photo what the sweets are, it doesn't actually give them a title. I'm not sure if that's some deliberate ploy but from my own perspective I'd want to be able to see what they all are without having to go into each one to identify it.

Thanks for the comments guys, Im pretty pleased with how the site turned out, particularly as its my girlfriends venture!

Updates added to the list are improving the size guide and possibly incorporating a sort of help button next to the actual size choices. Also, adding text to the images on the grid page as that is a recurring theme in the feedback she's been given.

Forgot to add in the code by the way if anyone is tempted by Drumsticks or DibDabs! Enter DIACP10 at the checkout!

Cheers again!

Wow, freaky. I was searching online one night this week for the red karate belts I used to love as a kid, and your site came up in the Google results! Strangely though, I couldn't find them on there \:\(

Or have I missed them? I will buy some if she sells them! \:D

I'd rethink the toys in chewbz idea - unless they're edible

Scenario: 8yr old Jonny buys two chewbz - one with sweets, the other with toy soldiers..his 2yr old brother Stanley watches Jonny wolf down the sweeties and he decides to chew on the soldiers.. \:o

That's a vicious rumour that started one night in Catterick Garrison and no-one can prove anything, so there! \:P

\:D

Must admit I'm seriously tempted by the site and am counting my pocket money as I type.......

You can still order in time for christmas, assuming the mighty Royal Mail don't drop the ball, great site, nice design.

I want sweets now \:D
