Thanks Si
OK Tricky, all valid questions...
Are you going to be storming up and down public roads with the car?Most of the mapping will be done on the road at normal speeds in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. Even with my own car I don't do silly speeds, it's simply not required.
Is the way you drive the car safe & legal?Well I like to think so yes. I have met enough people on here over the years and I'm pretty sure a few can vouch for my driving etiquette
(Disclaimer: The track is a bit different
)
What happens if it’s raining/snowing?Snow or heavy rain it won't happen. Light rain or damp roads then it will depend on what is being done i.e. light loads, part throttle, midrange etc. I certainly won't being doing anything silly, I have a wife, 3yr old girl and 2 week old baby boy to think of.
It's funny you ask as I remember raising my eyebrows a couple of years ago when a mapper came back telling me that my car was wheel spinning in 4th... it was raining!
What happens if you damage the car?Comprehensive motor trade road risk insurance
Other than your own car what other 20VT’s have you mapped?I have two coupes. One is running 440cc injectors with 400-500bhp dependent on the fuel used, it now runs 95% as good as a car on standard injectors whereas 6 months ago it was running at about 60%. I have also mapped my other standard coupe with both 400cc injectors and also standard injectors just to further my knowledge of the coupe ecu.
Do you have any before/after dyno runs of the cars you have mapped?No, I have simply mapped the car for optimum fueling, driveability, economy and safety. Beyond that there is nothing else I can do.
As Si says, I hope my knowledge of the Coupe and having gone through the various tuning stages will help benefit others with good advice.
