Has anyone bothered buying one of these Car Tyre Inflators that plug into the lighter socket, the majority seem to only go to 30psi but just wondered if it is something worth having in the boot of the car. Every now and again I find I need to just add a little air to front wheels,.. Earlsie

Nice One,
Thats the model I was looking at also, I will take a closer look once I make it up to Halfords.
Do you know if it comes with various nozzles for push bike, Inflatable sheep and the likes
Tks

I bought one very similar from Argos a few years ago for about £20. Just type in your pressure and switch it on. Remember though, these are only designed to run for around 10 minutes, so if you're tyre is really flat then you may need to let it cool down inbetween. I've got one of those jump-start/power-pack type things now with a compressor built in, which I prefer. EDIT: Just read this about the halfords on "Inflates car tyre from flat in under 3 minutes" Now that is good - I might go and get myself one

I bought a Michelin one (ooh - get me!) a couple of years ago from Halfords.
Has been pretty good - pretty accurate (although I swear by my digital race spec gauge used in combo) - the only problems I've had was that the cable went on the original (got a new one from Halfords without any problem) and the lighter socket tends to get very hot & unscrew itself leading to frantic searching for various fuses/springs/bits! I think it goes up to about 60 psi as well.

I've got a normal slow automatic one and a booster pack one. Both make too much noise and are too slow. When will someone make a quiet one. It's like bl***dy hairdriers, my missus' one sounds like a low-flying jet

I have what looks like the one bockers linked to, which I bought from Halfords some 3 years or so ago. However, on all 3 of my Coupes and Alfa 156 I have to get someone to hold the plug in the lighter socket as it won't stay in. It was fine on my MX-5 and Fiesta though.
I assumed Italian cars have slightly odd cigarette lighter sockets.
My Halfords one goes to at least 40psi. Haven't tried higher.

Have a look at this What car test I bought the Ring RAC600 which works well. I picked it up from Euro Car Parts, with the right discount code it was by far the cheapest.

I tried a cheapy one from Tescos. It was good at making lots of noise, but that was about it.
The one from Lidl had a three year guarantee. I thought for under a tenner & a guarantee of three years was well worth a punt.
I'm an old git & happy with it,most of the time

Yes my last one was a 'Ring' - not sure why they use a screw-on rather than a press-on valve but hey-ho....
