After what seems like the longest wait known to man, my remap is being done on Monday. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m really looking forward to it. The drive from Norwich to Castle Combe is the only downside. It’s a dull drive there, slightly less dull on the way back (more power, means more fun)

As I’m one to err on the side of caution I’ve serviced the old girl, all new lubricants, fluids and box oil. After it finally went through the m.o.t
The distance worries me, but the outcome far outweighs the 8.5hr round trip.

Wish me luck guys.

Mods for mapping are
FMIC
Blue flame exhaust
Billit stage 1 hybrid turbo
Bigger air induction kit (ram air)
New plugs
Walbro 225 fuel pump
470cc injectors
Boost controller.
Possibly something else I’ve forgotten

Good luck and fingers crossed no issues that prevent the map from being completed. I'm sure you'll enjoy the drive back even more though laugh

Flipping heck, I hope nothing prevents it. It’s a flipping long old hike to be turned away.

Can be fun if you avoid the motorway route.

Remember to have the fuel in which you normally run on, no point mapping with Optimax and then running on low grade fuel

It was mapped using v-power which I always use, unless I have to use the b.p equivalent.

Very happy with the mapping results too. It runs so much better off boost and the car is like a totally different animal now. Day and night difference.

190.3bhp with 281.7l lbft on the top setting and when the wife is in. The care I use the more reserved setting which is 268.4bhp with 247.6 lbft. They were both set into the boost controller on mapping.

I was told it would have had higher figures, which is probably an oversight on my part for not replacing the clutch prior to mapping. But a stage 1 clutch is now on the way.

Steve I think it should read 290 bhp not 190 tongue

Sorry late to comment - and also been off line for months - sheer pressure of work nono

Like you I'm in God's own County- and did much the same journey down for map work. I've mentioned it multiple times - I'd always been uninterested in mapping a car- as had heard and seen many horror stories.

The reality with Leighton was- he was mindful of not hurting the car. And carefully configured mine (standard model no upgrades added apart from OEM+ parts to replace old). The before and after attects were really impressive. Mine made circa 266 bhp. Likely a next model up turbo would produce higher figures- but at the same time I got better MPG and just oddles of torque everwhere off boost.

Hope to see you car someone where around the City at some point!

Best,

MM
