As above. I know I should be bored to tears by the F1 circus, but I can't help it. Watching Vettel with the raging hump in the post quali press conference because Hamilton smashed it was everything I was hoping for.

So what if Hamilton did have a super qualifying mode for his engine? (I don't think he did), I think it just twisted Vettel's melon that Mercedes (or Hamilton, at least) might have been sandbagging and actually Ferrari still have work to do.

I still think it'll be a lot closer this year, with Red Bull closing the gap to Ferrari and both of them a bit nearer to the top of the time sheets.

Looking forward to the race - though of course, highlights only. That's something Liberty Media won't be changing in a hurry...

Yes - I loved Hamilton’s comment about wiping the smile off Herr Fingerwagger’s face. That’s what we need: a bit of needle to start the season. And his lap was just awesome, Party Mode or not.

I will be watching at stupid o’clock as my (grown-up) kids would riot if this (and pretty much this alone) wasn’t available.

Great to see Alfa Romeo's name back in the fold, even if it is at the back of the field! Aston Martin too will be hoping the Mercedes and Ferrari's run into trouble.
Hamilton's quali lap was pretty impressive.
Halo and the loss of glamour girls mean a whole new look for the year ahead. shocked

Hmmm - fair result but I’m not sure that the rule is right.

Presumably, the Marshalls would know where they were going to get Grosjean's car of the track? In which case, why the virtual safety car (that handed Vettel a pretty undeserved win) followed by a full safety car?
All's fair in love and F1 but there's no disguising which was the faster car.

Whilst designing a car to run at the front of the field is one thing, the gamble is if you are not there, then look out!
Bottas completely failed to cut through the field, so Hamilton has to win pole every time and pray not for the safety car ever to come out???
Surely a flawed strategy to kick off the season confused

There wasn’t anybody really moving through the field. I think it was Vettel that said that you need to be over 1.5s a lap faster at that circuit to pass. It’s not a great circuit for overtaking.

I'm feeling better that my recorder failed to record the race...

It wasn't a classic. The difficulty in overtaking was highlighted throughout the field - notably with the queue behind Alonso.
It's odd though, I don't remember Albert Park as being especially tough for passing. Perhaps reliability usually thins out the field at the season opener...

It was a bit of a snooze fest to be honest.
I was hoping the top 3 would be closer this year but it looks like Merc still have the fastest car and not much overtaking will be done by anyone (again) rolleyes

You using VHS or Betamax Neil tongue

Lewis' quali lap was ace and i was hoping for better things in the race. He was surely cheated out of a win there. For a little while I thought he might just catch and pass Vettel but it was not to be. It would have been brilliant if he had though laugh

Well after a very entertaining Bahrain GP, we move onto China.

Great result for Toro Rosso, was it down to an improved Honda or did the track suit TRs Aero?

Sad to see Williams propping everyone else up, is it just a bad car or are Stroll and Sirotkin just not up to the job?

Early start this weekend for Quali and then the race laugh

Bahrain was great but I think Hamilton would have got past Vettel if he'd been in Bottas position.
TR are praising the Honda for having good initial deployment and driveability which is giving them good traction out of the corners so that might be shaving a bit off their lap time.
We'll see this weekend!
