Any recommendations for a good self-learn guitar book suitable for a soon to be 10 year old?
MicroWishy has an acoustic that was bequeathed to us a while back and Santa is going to get a book to for her to teach herself. I thought this would be a very easy trawl on Amazon but it seems hard to gauge what would be age suitable hence this post. Any recommendations? If there is something that would also be helpful for an adult with no musical talent that would also be useful (I may have had too much to drink on Friday night and declared that I would also learn to play).

To add some context, she has played violin with school for a couple of years and can read music to some extent already. I on the other hand, am completely clueless as I haven't read music since school (I am however the secondary concern in all of this).

I hate to say this but my son picked up a guitar last January and is now IMHO not bad at all.
He used the dreaded 'You Tube' with not a book in sight

Thanks for the ideas. I hadn't though of YouTube, that's a not a bad idea as it would whet her appetite for that particular website whilst simultaneously avoiding the drivel that she normally uses it to watch. Lessons would be a possible next step, I was just going to start with a book to see if there is any interest there at all (the guitar was free) first. I suppose I should probably add a sodding One Direction songbook as well! Where did you find that video of me sometime in the near future?
