Hello, On Sunday morning I collected my new race car and trailer, very exciting! After racing the Caterham and Elise the 140bhp 320i is going to be sssslllloooowwww but it should be fun on a grid with near identical cars. I've booked a trackday at Brands on Monday to see what it's like and will report back. It's very tidy, probably too nice for racing being rust free and more than I wanted to pay (owes me £8500 so far), but it's nice to start with a good one. The current stable, Beths Panda 100HP was too dirty to warrant a photo

Yes, in that photo I had all the spares in the back including a diff, set of wheels, boot lid and numerous boxes of metal bits taken off during its race car conversion. I'm hoping the back of the car won't be quite as low as that on Monday! It's rated at 1600kg to tow a braked trailer, with about 190bhp (2.5 straight 6), it had enough oomph on my way home, but not as good as a diesel. I can't justify or have room for a dedicated tow vehicle so it will have to do.

Thanks Jonny, I'll be entering all the PBMW rounds except the first one which clashes with CSCC (PBMW calendar not yet public). In addition I will be sharing the car in various 2 driver races with friends, most likely in MSVR Trackday Trophy, so if any of you fancy sharing a race let me know and I'll work out a price.

I know, a shame I can't race with my own club. I've read lots of positives about driving standards in PBMW, it was an important part of choosing this championship.

Would love to Dave - a couple of issues: 1. I'm nowhere near your standard 2. I'd be crapping myself for the whole race as its not my car....
