Seriously pondering sale of the Coupe so I thought I'd take some nice photos of the twins for posterity and share them with you all.

So the gtv is your favourite child?
That's a hell of a decision to have to make.
Can't you mothball the Coupe for a while so you'll know what it'll be like if you did sell it?
Lovely pics cool

It is really eating me up. I want to buy another car and I need the space (my son suggested storage but it seems mad). Trouble is I cant decide whether to buy turbo or N/A vairient of the next car crazy

This is entirely an emotional decision, how to sell ones pride and joy of the past 15 years cry

The pictures of course show three things that could be sold wink But it looks to me like you could add an extra garage at the side, perhaps a double length one, problem solved!

Edit: Didn't that used to be a double width garage? Convert it back (and add another at the side) laugh

That is a consideration laugh , but I think a tricky and hence costly conversion (it has always been single). I have also seriously thought about it though!

Not even a (double length?) lean-to shelter? I'm just trying to help, honest (I have 4 cars currently and am thinking about the 5th, so one or two must go, probably)

Issue is getting room to move in there. Can get one car in but not move about, would need to take down the side wall of house (gulp) to give double opening and internal space I'd want. Can't go double length due to kitchen etc.

I also have 4 cars, hence reached the limit frown

You can rent a garage from a housing association even if you don't have a house with them. We pay £28 a month for ours.

I've run out of room too.....if the proposed car is more aesthetically pleasing, stylish, relatively rare, faster and newer I would flog the Coupe. The GTV is/will be the one that will command more money in the future classic market.

Very hard to top the Coupe but finally seriously looking at a 911.

Nice, and importantly it will hold it's money, maybe a tad 'clinical' compared to the Coupe and it's relative and likeable foibles, maybe that's not a bad thing though. smile

What year/model 911?

997 Gen 2 C4S manual

A touch faster than the Coupe, but N/A gives a much sharper throttle response which makes it feel quite different in delivery.

Mark, do you still have that old Aston Martin? It's going back a few years now but I'm sure we had a chat about it at Roger's once...

Thanks, I have an offer pending, let's see where that gets to.

If I had about £20,000 to spend on a car I would go for a Maserati 4200 Coupe. Porsches are so boring! I only like the 525 Spyder.

Hey- you've got great taste Annie!

The 4200 is a lot of gear- probably less hassle than the 3200 GT but not as pretty. The Gransport is probably the one to go for.

But actually, they are a bit too much for me! I was 'tossed the keys' to a Gransport once in a garage, but after starting it- I was terrified! The noise is WAY too much- and it was just idling..!

My Uncle is really into Porsches and is constantly taking the p*ss of out my Italian tastes (and all my tastes in fact) and I always retort with-

'Porsches are for people who didn't have the guts to buy Italian!'

Which is kind of true as he has tonnes of books on Ferrari.

However, at the risk of insulting Mark S, I would like to retract that comment in present company- as he has undoubtedly proved beyond any doubt, having run a GTV AND Coupé, that he does very much have the guts.
