Am seriously thinking about one as a cheap fun car, possible also a few trackdays, with a suspension upgrade.

Main reason is I've seen a nice one in Sprint blue!

Any experience of these from anyone?

Variator on this one has been done, looks in good nick

They are great little cars. I would prefer the older 1.4 turbo, but the 1.8 should be nifty.

Not owned that model, but did have the previous mark with the 1.2 engine and loved it.

Yes, nice little cars and a shame more of them weren't made.

I've driven a couple and the 1.8 is brilliant for the car.

Buy it, I don't think you'd regret it cool

I had one. Nice car with great "chuckable" handling. I had to do the variator on mine. They can suffer from corrosion that can get near the seat belt mounting points, even when body looks immaculate so check carefully. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed by the power, it never felt like it should in small car, perhaps Flea could have sorted it. Ultimately I sold it on because it was not right for work commute, needed a six speed box, too fizzy at my 80mph cruising speed.
