Why are Lancias so highly valued? I've seen one selling for £50,000. Do you think Coupes will fetch these sort of prices in a decade or so? The same reason why the Honda NSX is so expensive. As well as being certified classic cars, they have the whole historical motorsport significance thing going on. Which is the cherry on top for motoring enthusiasts, who ultimately are the ones who buy these kind of cars. The Fiat Coupe even though it is/will be a classic, doesn't really have any wider importance (maybe, 'Schumacher owned one,' but even that is quite trivial) and therefore it will never fetch such prices.

Well, not if you consider the older Fiat Coupes, that currently can cost £15-30K But I agree, 60-100K will never be achievable ...

What's the story about the tulip bulbs? I've not heard that one. Back in the 17th century the Dutch started breeding different types of tulips particularly ones suffering from a virus which changed the colour of the petals. At first these new varieties were rare and there developed a fashion for collecting the bulbs. As a result prices soared until individual bulbs were changing hands for the equivalent of many thousands of pounds. Inevitably the bubble burst and there were many investors who lost everything. There is more detail if you click this link.

We must all do our part for the planet. I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Prices of Lancias have gone mad, as have some older fiats, the 124 spider in particular. As Makka says, people love winners, but I think many newer classics are also rising in value across the board, especially 80s and 90s like Golf or 205 GTis. My own view is that 1. There are fewer truly desirable cars from this era and 2. People with a bit of cash have very few other safe bets to invest in and very low returns for just keeping it in savings, so why not have something nice to use and look at?
This should mean that coupes also rise in value at some stage, they are certainly good value atm, compared to most other cars from this era, but I'd rather just drive mine and enjoy it. There are precious few cars that are modern enough to use every day but special enough to not lose value, so either way I think we are onto a winner. In the meantime, we can sit back and wait for the bubble to burst!

There's currently a Fiat Dino Coupé on eBay at £59,990 and this level has not been unusual for really nice examples. No Motorsport history, but it does have a Ferrari engine. I see no reason why the best Fiat Coupés couldn't reach £30k+, maybe 10-20 years down the line.
