+1, stated exceptions acknowledged. I was flicking through for something to watch last night and seeing as Hotel Transylvania includes the aforementioned Mr. Sandler I thought I'd see if Ace Ventura had any redeeming features as I've never actually watched it. It didn't and I only lasted 5 minutes.

I liked this quote: Mario Farkas 10 months ago I watched this movie on an airplain and people still walked out...

Exactly.
Proper budget with Nic Cage, Left Behind is the worst. Its not just badly made with terrible performances - through the whole film Cage looks like he has a massive dental bill looming - but the core message, the rapture, is the biggest stinker in a big stinky barrel of stink.

Unlike any film with Nicolas Cage....
To be fair, he has been in some great movies like Red Rock West + Leaving Las Vegas. And some good ones, Matchstick Men, Knowing, Joe, Kick-Ass to name a few.

I'd add Wild at Heart to that list of good films with Nicholas Cage in but it doesn't mean that I think he's a good actor.

I'm genuinely astonished someone else has seen it. I saw it years ago.....I seem to remember it being weird, rather than crap.

I'm genuinely astonished someone else has seen it. Have actually seen it twice. First time on VHS around 1990 back when I was heavily into tape trading of underground/horror stuff, thought it was the most over-rated trash I'd ever seen and that was really saying something considering some of the weird no budget stuff from back then. Watched it again about 5 years ago from an HD version just in case I was being unfair but had exactly the same opinion second time around. The only David Lynch movie I actually liked enough to own a copy of is The Straight Story. For beautiful/weirdness I always preferred stuff like The Reflecting Skin, to me that's the kinda movie David Lynch wishes he could make.

Check out The Reflecting Skin , you'll likely appreciate that if you're a fan of Lynch. It's been a favourite of mine for a long time but has just been released in the UK for the first time, on DVD and Blu-ray. Before that I had the original Canadian VHS and then a Japanese DVD, it was always a tricky one to see until very recently.

Cage is just dreadful. On the list with Tom Hanks, Robin Williams, Keanu Reeves and Jim Carey.... awful, absolutely awful. Strongly disagree with that, Tom Hanks in my opinion is a fantastic actor. Forrest Gump, Road to Perdition, Captain Phillips, Castaway, Saving Private Ryan, Green mile the list goes on Worst film ever... Snakes on a plane!
