Hi All,
A colleague of mine nicely reversed in to my rear quarter panel, denting it above and below the rear slash. On recommendation by Noel Dazely i went through the legal cover and seeked a cash in lieu settlement whcih seems to be progressing well, i think....
However, Markerstudy who is my actual insurance company wrote to me asking to give them a report, so i rang up and gave them the details. When i gave them the year of manufacture, 1999, the operator promtly told me, and i quote, "ok sir well regardless as to whether you had scratched the bumper, or rolled the car, with a vehicle of this age, if you were making a claim we would automatically be looking to write the car off".
As you can imagine, this shocked and horrified me, i pay my insurance company to look after my interests as well as 3rd party, clearly i am not getting this service with Markerstudy, therefore, does anyone know if i have a valid claim that i may have been overpaying on my car insurance?
Is there anything i can do mid-policy to resolve this unacceptable attitude? The car was independently valued at £1,905 last Tuesday, so i don't see how a scratch would justify writing it off, yet it seems that Markerstudy only consider age of the vehicle!
Any advice would be great, thank you,
Dan
