It is said only 1500 LEs were ever built rolleyes
However I have seen some LEs with higher numbers than this.

I was wondering what was the highest LE number you might have seen.
Appreciate your comments.

Radicz.

1499 is the highest number reported in the LE thread on here:

I don't think the numbers ran concurrently - its very difficult to determine but the register indicates that. That said the original Press release stated there was only going to be 200! Like all Coupes though - they are getting rarer by the month.............

The joke is, of course, that 1,500 out of 70,000 coupes was around 2% of the total. Now that people are preferentially saving the LE, or so it seems, they're becoming more and more common smile

i think the rarest of them all will be the 1.8 16v and the 20v aspirated one. everyone wants and save's the LE's and the 20vt's.

The highest number I have seen is 1555. I was wondering how many LEs were in fact built.

In all articles about FC they write that only 1500 were manufactured. But what is it in real? rolleyes

All Coupes deserve to be saved! cop

In my opinion, apart from LEs and Plus, 1.8 16V Special Edition (SE) will be the rarest version of the FC.

I think I'm right in saying the 1.8 16V was not available in the UK - nor was the final SE 1.8 - wasn't that the one with quilted seats though love

Yes the SE 1.8 (Millennium edition with silver centre console) has the waffle base and back rest and was only available in Europe along with the earlier 1.8's.

I love the waffle design love

You are right Nello, none of the 1.8 coupes were officially available here. There may be a couple of personal imports but they don't show up as such on the howmanyareleft website.

I think that there are a couple of members on here but based in Belgium or Holland who have them.

At the risk of going off-topic theres something about quilted leather seats. I even liked those Rover 200 BRM things just because of them. The Barchetta LE had the same leather as well.

I love the waffle design love

SE was produced in 2000 only- the last year when FC was produced.

The waffle seat design was also offered in the last Coupes that were produced. Not only in 1.8 SE but also in 20VT for example.

Has anyone else seen LE with the number over 1499? rolleyes

Thanks for all comments.

Yes, sorry, I know they weren't available 'here' geographically speaking...

But in terms of the reach of this resource, I was wondering if we had any forum members abroad who owned 1.8's...

Presumably the Baracheta seats might fit a Coupe, but they would not have tilt for letting in rear passengers!?!

I looked at a Barchetta years ago with a view to buying one and IIRC the seats still tilt forward to enable access to the rear 'parcel' / back window etc.
