As it's half term, why wouldn't you get tickets for the opening night?

Looking forward to it, with no expectations of a decent plot or great acting, just...Bond.

Yup - it's gotta be worth a watch as a mindless bit of fun.

There are no submarines in this film.

Apart from that, it's pretty much got every Bond cliché you can imagine.

It is absolutely packed with action and exotic locations and a splendid super-baddie.

If you want Bond turned up to 11, fill your boots!

I agree that it was packed with clichés, but for me that was a negative point. In fact, the whole thing was one big Bond cliché. It was utterly tedious from start to finish and had almost no story-line. Couldn't wait for it to end.

Any of our German colleagues able to tell me whether the DE version is subtitled or dubbed?

It premieres in Europe on the 5th of November.

Some cinema's have the original but most have it dubbed.

From what I have seen from the various trailers, it seems to be full of overdone special effects.

Simpler stuff is sometimes more effective!

Think I'll wait a year or two for it to appear on free-to-view tv.

Alright, E, you've made your feelings abundantly clear, it wasn't for you. Sheesh!

In other news, new Star Wars film features spaceships and light sabres...

Well, we both enjoyed it smile

Great action, fantastic locations and a story line to dream of.

Hmm, well....... chinny

Saw it yesterday with my two lads (Wifey politely declined...)

Decent storyline, some jaw-dropping effects, fast cars, (very) pretty girls, a small scattering of genuinely funny Bond one-liners, some nice links to previous Bond movies and a really good ending

Also, while it probably doesn't matter too much for a film like this, some of the cinematography was epic - huge vistas and stunning locations - very pleasing to the eye

PS - if you go to watch it expecting it to be anything other than a Bond film, you're (rather predictably) going to be a bit disappointed

I have it on good authority that Brian is very bitter after they turned him down for the next Bond role!

I can see him now, clinging on to the Snowdon mountain railway for dear life while under attack from assailants that don't know who he is laugh

If she's in the opening scene you'll be dead lucky.

Sorry to disappoint, Simon; I've been far too busy repairing Offa's Dyke to get over to Snowdon.
