can't you guy's sign up the coupe as a 3e weekend car? in Belgium I can do that if you have 2 car insured with the same company on a full insurance you can sign up a 3e or even a 4e as a weekend driver at little less then half the costs. make's the cost of keeping here a little less expensive.

Then bought a Z4M Roadster. Cracking car but not as loved as my Coupe was, just more reliable.  Snap, although in my case I think the pleasure of rwd and no paranoia just out-trumps the 20VT warble, torque and looks.

Hmm, yes. I do like the Focus ST, although the dash is overly fussy to my eyes. A mate had the 500 version which was lovely but the gearbox broke so he took it back and had a beemer instead. A 5 door could be the family car, tow a caravan and be a weekend toy too. It would have to be made louder for me though  Edit: The dash is ok. It's the current Focus dash that's a mess.

Drives totally different from Coupe, feels less raw and grip is in another world, as is the V-Max consumption, around 17.3MPG
The very fact that the Coupe is being mentioned in the same terms as Maserati's and new Focus STs gives you an idea of how advanced and just how good the Coupe was and still is.

Owner of a 20VT from June 2004 - June 2015 (maybe i have the record for the longest owned F.Coupe - 11 years, 9 days...). Used daily. Serviced on average every 6000 miles. No mods. The real moneypit (£££££), but enjoyed the growl and the looks and quirkyness, frozen locks & handbrake !
Now have an R32 !

911 (997) Carrera 4S, from RSJ Sportscars (For the warranty) Congrats, I love both the 997 and 996 C4S. That rear end! To answer the OPs question, I've yet to drive anything which replaces the feeling, sentimental or otherwise, of owning a Coupe. Having saved our old Fiat from the scrapper I'm itching to get her back on the road and often find myself sitting in the cabin turning her over just to hear that five pot engine!

Well. My (it's not now though, is it) Coupes new owner has just sent a pic through of it's underside now its been rubbed down and under sealed. Looks like a supermodel clad in PVC . Ahem. And he's driving it at the moment. And what am I doing , 'life after Coupe'? Tiling the bl**dy kitchen, that's what.  Then another pic comes through. He's only at Shelsley Walsh and the gleaming Coupe is parked next to some ole Ferrari 456, 458 or whatever.

Sold my first couple (R reg Sprinty 20VT) for an Escort. House move meant I needed a deposit. Sold my second coupe (T reg Banana 20VT) for a Focus ST170. Sold my final coupe (T reg Red 20VT) for a Scooby. Since then I've had a couple more Scoobies, an E46 330Ci, a Mundaneo and now a Swift on PCP. I feel I've done the coupe 'thing' and although I miss the looks and the drive, I don't miss the upkeep. Between them, my last 2 coupes cost me close to 5 figures in maintenance  And as it happens, from March next year I'm on the lookout for a new sportier car

During commiting sacrilege and breaking my last coupe taking it all apart I gained the utmost respect for how nicely made they actually were lol. Since the coupe though I had a B8 A4 s-line 2.0l diesel lovely car just far too boring and slow. After that I had a brand new Audi A7 Bitdi S-line it was a post divorce present to myself, best all round car ive owned proper jekyll and Hyde car blisteringly quick for a diesel even sounded lovely with the active exhaust, yet calmed down and cruised 50+ mpg, I sold the car though the depreciation started to make me cry lol it was ridiculous. I now have a 600bhp R32 GTR toy always wanted one so had to get one before their prices increase too much. But realistically it is a little too quick for road driving you can't really fully utilise it unless you have a straight clear piece of road safely, but it's a charismatic beast like the coupe makes me smile just hearing it idle. And depreciation free too bar potential big bills if you don't look after them. Do miss the Coupés though wouldn't get one again as a project until I get bundles of free time and a workshop at home, actually really miss my first coupe the 16vt just as much as my last the 20vt6 still think £'s for performance they are still an epic underrated car. I also miss explaining to people what it was haha. I think they are a seriously enjoyable car to own once you know one inside out suppose they can be a bit of headache if your not very hands on still.

Hi Brad, wondered what had happened to you - it was a crime what happened to your coupe but if it's any consolation I can assure you that some parts of it are still enjoying a healthy afterlife That R32 sounds frighteningly good fun

Yeah it was  hope your well fella , haha I always have that side of it to keep me amused the coupe ended up all over Europe lol Yeah the R32 is cool really enjoyable car just the noises it makes alone, it's forged and is still twin turbo'd too which I like about it it's got 2 cheeky HKS turbo's nestled away in there. The only funny thing about it's ownership though they actually suffer from interior electrical issues lol, I just wanted a solid built car foundation engine and chassis wise, it's got Ohlins DFV coilovers, Nismo tie bars and bushes and 6pot front and 4pot rears so it handles like a new car really the 32. But yeah the car came with a broken climate control motor and a broken window switch there was something else too can't remember, just made me laugh as that's the one thing Italian cars are renowned for and I never had s glitch with one of mine 😂 well actually tell a lie my last one 20vt6 was temperamental with its climate control thinking about it funny though !! Lol
