Hello - my centre console and handbrake area seems to have become beyond help - it's all sticky and peeling and generally looking pretty shabby. Is it easy to get replacement parts or alternative remedies? Cheers

It is possible to do a refurbishment.

Here is the "how to" for the 20v . http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=202583&page=1#Post202583

Should you have a 16v, there is one also for that.

I have done mine and it has "responded well to treatment". I finished mine off with a spray can of VHT Hood, Bumper and Trim paint and am happy with the finish, which has now been on there for 5 years.

You can refurbish it. Recently I've done that. First I removed all parts of the center console and brought them to a local paintshop for respray in gloss black. You can paint it with a spray but the paint quality is not the same. Then I polished all of the center console buttons to match the shiny look.

Thanks - paint shop could be a good shout also I'd be interested in doing a parts dip (I've seen some good results) - anyone know any companies round the Guildford way that do this sort of thing? Sprayers or otherwise? Good on the wallet too...

I'll be honest and say I won't be getting it done for a few weeks as I'm on holiday in 2 weeks.

Go to Facebook and search prospect vehicles LTD creative vehicle concepts and there's pics of what he can do

£80 for the above.

And.....add another couple of hours to the time it will take you if you are following the How To Guide when it comes to removing/re-fitting.

And.... get the swear jar at the ready as it's a complete bugger of a job to get done.

Did mine in a day, including replacing the heater tap whilst the console was out.

The cleaning of the gunk was easy with a rag and Methylated Spirits. The satin finish on the polyurethane paint is good and looks very original.

looks nice chap, !!

I had mine done in a alloy wheel refurbing place near Zurich airport - Prices were V. high - but it needed alot of work.

after Very carefully installing it (ensuring no scratches during the re-build)I was Super happy with the result,

So much so I decided to get the "Spare" B Pillars covered, and will be stripping the "Spare" wing Mirrors - for the stems (arms) and base plate to be carbonised - the outer pods will remain the silvery grey LE colour. Might install some Leds in the plastic flash.

more stripping and rebuilding to do - in the persuit of styling happiness

Here's another alternative so long as you have a soft brush attachment for your hoover and don't mind using it occasionally to keep it looking tip-top.

I like the various options,am considering spraying mine the same colour as the car. Whats the classic consensus on that to accentuate the metal dash?

I was looking at doing my consoles body colour, but had a very good price quoted on flocking. So that's what I'll go for. Maybe I'll buy another couple of sets of consoles and do one in body colour and one dipped in "carbon". Then I could swap them around depending on the occasion...

No way! I live in Peppermint grove so a little way away from LM but its all much of a muchness over there. No fiat coupes but i've been looking at some old lampredi engined fiat 124s recently as they have survived in the desert climate alot better in WA than they fared in Europe.

Small(ish) world!
My brother's interest in cars starts and ends at which Hyundai is better value, so he wouldn't know a Fiat Coupé if it parked on his drive!
