As you may know I left the coop world and moved to Alfa. I've now left the Alfa world and I am now driving this click to enlarge Kia Soul smile (I do like it too!) Obviously it's very different from a performance car but it's quite cool. Quirky looks, roomy, comfy and 50 mpg on diesel.

The knock on effect is that I am now selling my 15 year old punto. It's been a great little workhorse and has been kept for those rare occasions when the Coop or the Alfa were off the road biglaugh It's time to let it go now and it's going to a good home this weekend frown and there's the problem! What do we do about car tax? I'm currently paying monthly (because you can) but I understand that the new owner becomes responsible for TAX immediately now. How does that work? Do we sit at my computer and she taxes it using the number off the Reg doc? The DVLA automatically cancel my payments when they get the reg doc returned to them? Obviously they get the whole of July from me and the whole of July from the new owner but I guess they have to make a few bob somehow hey crazy Forum advice welcome. I'll sit back and wait <goes to find slippers> </oops hey were in the Kia>

Just cancel your DD, but even that is not vital.

As soon as the DVLA gets the change of ownership the tax is automatically cancelled and is down to the new owner to sort out.

I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.
