I've always used Photobucket for photos I need to upload to places like this forum, but am getting sick of all their adverts and general slowness.

I also have photos stored everywhere on my pc and keep running out of space on my iPhone.

I have family photos and videos, etc, that I want to keep secure and safe, as well as pet photos, car photos, etc.

I could pay for Photobucket, but as they are showing more and more ads for revenue, it's making me wonder how much longer they'll be around

iCloud have free 5Gb of storage, but you can't upload videos without a load of messing around, doesn't seem to have links for uploading to places like here and if I trying using it from an Android OS, it keeps saying browser isn't supported. 20Gb of storage is available for only 79p a month though.

I have a Skydrive account, but it doesn't seem a popular option and if I'm going to store stuff online, I want it to be around forever.

Dropbox is looking the best all rounder so far, but only 2Gb of free storage and something like £11 a month for more shocked

Anyone have any other recommendations?

Is Dropbox the best all rounder, as well as being easy to use?

I use Hubic for long term photography storage. 25Gb for free, VERY cheap if you need more.

100Gb for 10 Euros, or 10Tb (yes Terabytes) for 50 Euros per year.

Their network and datacentres are top class, and apart from being French ( :-D ) I'd trust them 100%.

Hi,

The other option is to have your own personal cloud. I've got a 3TB WD My Cloud and it works extremely well.

http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=1140

I upload all my videos, pics and music to this drive (as well as other docs) and I can access from any computer, IOS and Android. Its extremely fast and sits in your house connected to your broadband.

I even download music onto it and access from my mobile phone to steam via bluetooth to my HU in the car.

Becasue its essentially a hard drive attached network storage, its simply drag and drop, no messing around with conversion on the likes of OSX, and works seamlessly with both Mac and PC. You can also give access to others, and share things too.

Cost about £100 from PC world, and no subscription or on going costs.

A couple of things to consider;

Are you after anyway access or a proper backup or both. Be wary of things like dropbox for long term storage. They don't backup/save deleted items so if you delete anything by mistake and don't notice you can lose it for good.

Also anything stored at home is not a proper backup for you photos. Unless you take it to work/friends house.

I know theres a PC "sync" application, I use it to keep any editing I do to my photo collection backed up instantly.

Theres also a Windows Phone application, so I would assume they also have an Android and iOS app.

You can upload whatever you like to it T, its just cloud storage!

Microsoft one drive is a good option. Get full office suite on all devices and 1Tb of storage of £80 a year. Available across all devices and can sync all pics, videos and music from Main PC so you have them local as well. OneNote is excellent too.

I know it may be unpopular to suggest MS but the company are changing rapidly now Bulmer has gone.

I switched from Dropbox to Microsoft for the reason above.

I had just bought a new laptop and needed to get MS Office for it so the software/storage package was a good option for me.

I really like Google photos. It's free for unlimited photos up to 8MP resolution and videos up to 1080p.

The search is amazing - you can search for anything and it will show you the relevant photos in a fraction of a second. It's impossibly fast.

The only downside is that it compresses the images very slightly. You can opt not to compress the images, but then you're limited to 17Gb

Thanks for all the replies, you've been very helpful cool

I've decided to try the hubiC that one4seven mentioned (thanks) and am getting on well with it so far, but have only uploaded some photos at the moment and haven't tried sorting the photos out yet or getting links to them, but so far so good.

Handy to have all the other suggestions and info though, thanks smile
