And good luck to them. Not sure I'd ever want to fly solar but there you go.

I was intrigued by this photo which shows a guy in the centre who must have upset someone and had the voodoo dust treatment like Beetlejuice...

That's a great photo,you can clearly see the structure in the tail that wouldn't look too far removed from some of the early Bleriot aircraft.

I think solar stands a good chance of becoming viable in aircraft due to the heights commercial craft operate at - you're above the cloud. As with all things electric, batteries are the enemy. They're just to heavy.

I've got say that I'm mightily impressed by the achievement.

I think geared fans will be the next step in aviation engines, a small efficient jet engine with a huge gear driven fan.

I agree, what an amazing project to be involved in. Lucky guys.
