Tyres - Maxxis on the front and ContiSport on the rear - can't imagine that instils much confidence in the wet...

Seems like a decent starting price though

We're currently considering buying in an identical car with half that mileage

But still 2011 4 yrs of what could be 7000m of stop start short runs to Tesco.
A members car would have had 2 belt changes.

I thought it was every 5years. Mine has only covered about that in the last 4 years. If I use the car it goes for long runs only. Seems cheap for a Plus. Even with the miles on the clock. Lots of new parts

I think Fiat say 6 years. All the specialists say 5 years. 2 Years for aux belts

20V - five years/72k but inspect the aux belts yearly and replace them if any sign of damage/wear; change aux belts at two years.

16V - three years/36k but better at two years/24k - it's a bit fragile. If you really want to play games, Deltaparts offer a 25mm conversion (standard belt is 17mm) but you'll need other modifications too. I don't know of anyone who's done it on a coupe.

I use gates belts they state 5yrs
Or do I have to change it every 2? I only do 2000 max per year. My last coupe did 890 miles in 18 months.

I'm not doing much more - but we saw too many of the 16s (turbo and NA) killed by broken belts. Indeed, mine died a fortnight before it was scheduled to have its belt changed for the first time at 45k... killing thirteen valves in the head and costing three grand to fix. Half a year later, the shock damage to the big ends killed the engine due to oil starvation: pressure loss, massive knocking, dead crank and a bent con-rod.

It's fairly well established that a broken belt requires not just the valves replacing but also the big end bearings - they get damaged by the valve impact.

It is of course your choice; in your place due to the low mileage I'd probably wait three, or even four years - but I wouldn't wait five. Remember there are now very few of these on the road; new engines are still *just* available but will cost significantly more than most cars are realistically worth.

If you look in the projects section you'll be able to see the costs for parts alone for a bottom end rebuild on mine: an easy eight hundred quid which doesn't include the head damage.

I think the place advertising this plus had another coop or GTV advertised a while back as i recognize the back ground and drive. Possibly could be linked to an Italian specialist garage although not one of the big 4 we are familiar with (ie FCSS, MM MCS PI/PD)

I know this car and it's one of the better examples out there.
