The Festo type (Canadian make) fitting is a 90 degree 10mm unit and I am using a swirl pot that is fitted to the front of the car. I have not had any issues in the past with this configuration.
To be honest I would like to run a couple of thing by you in terms of the fuel lines etc..
I am using a Festo fittings with Viton seals and PU lines which all have a fuel rating and I have been keeping a piece of the fuel line and a couple of fittings in a jar full of fuel just to check how the lot hold up against the fuel. Going on 6 months now...
I am planning to mount the fuel swirl pot in a vertical position inside the wheel well.
Is there any reason why I should not mount the Bosch 044 pump in a vertical position? I have spoken to the local Bosch guys and they say the pump can work in a vertical position and that it might even run a bit quieter.
There are aeromotive check valves before the fuel swirl and the Bosch 044 fuel pump to prevent drainage. The fuel lines entering the engine bay is aeromotive braided stainless steel hose.
Any comments are welcome and appreciated

I personally would not use Festo fittings for fuel, they are for pneumatics, much safer to use dash AN fittings. If you were to ever use race fuel you will see why, not even Viton lasts!!!!
As far as I know the 044 will happily work in any position, it is just a fluid pump.
I assume you will be returning fuel back to the swirl pot?

I've not seen those fittings used for fuel before either. I used them a lot on lorry air systems. But if they're rated for fuel I can't see a problem I guess.
