What happened to the Steel Grey LE for sale at £5,000 ad? Been following it, then noticed the for sale limbo thread had it sitting there and now all reference is gone.

Is it just me and I don't know how to search, or has the seller been banned?

If so; I'm sure I'm not the only one irritated by content that suddenly disappears. Perhaps there should be a naughty person area, where content can be moved to for those of us that still want to see it.

No the seller has not been banned.

As you know, adverts have to contain photos of the goods for sale. These photos have to be recent and showing in the post. In this case they were neither recent nor visible, so the ad has been withdrawn until the seller provides the necessary photos of the car.

These rules are there to protect forum members from any possible misrepresentation by sellers.

edit The images which were originally provided by the seller turned out to be those submitted by the previous owner of the car when he advertised it for sale.

OK Pete, thanks for the explanation/clarification. Good to see you protecting Forum members in this way. I just find it disconcerting when I find content that I've been interested in, just disappearing without a word. Happens all over the internet. Guess I should get into the habit of saving any content I find interesting.

Note that I said "it would very much be a case of buyer beware." So no, I wouldn't moan about getting ripped off. There are ways of protecting your interests when buying from a dubious source, that still allow you to get a bargain, or take a calculated risk in the hope of so doing. If you lose out you've only got yourself to blame, but at least your were able to take a shot at it.

My point is that once adverts are removed altogether the choice is removed. I'd just like to still have the choice to take a chance and make my own judgment call.
