So an interesting* thing happened to me last night. A knock at the door while we were eating. Odd time for anyone to call around here so I answered. On the other side a man on his phone who proceeded to raise his hand and tell me to hang on. I politely closed the door on him.

Just me or is that a strange way of winning custom?

*Your idea of interesting may vary from mine

You could try that as you open the door if you realise it's an unwanted caller?

Oh and the guy was a plonker.

Would have been better if you'd emptied both barrels into him. Plain rude.

Got a cold phone call today. "Hello is mrs x in?"
"No, she's out. Can I help ?"
"Click"
" hello ?"

That's rude too

I would have raised one or two fingers to him before politely closing the door laugh
