Well the time has come for me to accept that the Coupé has become a pretty rare beast nowadays and it isn't fair to subject it to the shockingly poor roads which have taken their toll over its 184K dodging potholes!

I've got plans to build up my spare Coupé shell using parts from this one and hopefully have it looking as good, as new as my current Coupé is starting to get into a bit of a state with peeling lacquer and rust issues in all those hidden areas frown .

To keep me on the road I've got a wee Astra VXR in Arden Blue and TBH after a day driving it, getting back into the Coupé seemed a bit of a chore to drive (not a fault of the Coop as mine is needing a good suspension refresh and a whole load of other work!)

So for the time being I'll be driving about confusing Coop drivers by flashing and waving at them from my VXR (In a more relaxed state hopefully as I'll only have a fuel gauge to look at rather than the Coupé's array of worry gauges! laugh ) Hopefully It won't be too long before I've got her back out on the road again to get to some meets but you never can tell.

Feels like I should be saying goodbye or something confused but I'm not leaving Coupé ownership just yet only putting it on hold for a wee while cool

Sounds like a plan Baz! Come on though. Give us the spec on the VXR … and a little comparison would be nice smile

The VXR looks nice Baz and in the right colour too laugh

Glad you're keeping hold of the Coupe and eventually sorting it out cool

The VXR is just standard spec Patch and don't have great plans for modifying it, just maybe a few styling tweeks cool . Haven't really driven it hard as I want to give it a good service first but I'm liking the sport button wink .

Yup the Arden Blue colour was one of the main reasons for going for the VXR Theresa (along with the fact that Astra's are nice and easy to work on) although I still think the Coupe has the edge on looks as I couldn't stop looking in my rearview mirror at my Dad driving my Coupe back home.
