Help, this is driving me insane.
My battery recently went flat (after I had lent the car to my other half.....) so having charged it it seems to set the alarm off. When this has happened before I just zap it with the fob and it turns the alarm off - easy..... This time the fob doesn't seem to be working and the only thing that gets the car to shut up is by disconnecting the battery, well this seems to make it quieter as I presume there is a separate small battery for the alarm.
Where is the speaker for the alarm so is can just rip the thing out? I tried to find it by listening, is it behind the passenger side wheel arch trim? I had to shut the thing off after a couple of minutes as the neighbours were beginning to look pissed off (quite right too, it was making a right racket)
It is a Meta system alarm, are these factory fitted? I am not bothered if I lose the alarm function but is there an immobiliser?
Is it possible to get new fobs?

Bockers, thanks for the replies pal. In my haste I hadn't even realised that there was a separate alarm section. Will have a good look through the posts there now.
Cheers again.

I've just been through the procedure of registering my new Cobra fob to my alarm. It was a bit of a laborious process. Perhaps the Meta fob also needs to be re-synced since you recharged the batt. Give these guys a call - they sold me a new fob for my Cobra alarm, and were v helpful. Looks like they deal with Meta too. guys Try and find the model of your alarm too. My control box was inside the drivers side dash.

Sorted by pulling the blue connector apart from up behind the fuse box. No more wailing....(from me and the alarm!!)
