First I would like to thank members on FCCUK forum for all the help I get from here.
It probably solved at least 1/2 of all my problem with my Coop(s) - (had 3).

Now the time has come to take it to the next level.
Next year I'm getting married and I would like to "finish" my 20V VIS, so that it looks perfect for the weding.

So respray or vinyl?
Let me explain why do I even have a choice....

Respray:
+
will cost me about 600€ for the material, because my gf father has a respray both and has rasprayed many cars over the years and thought he could help me
+
will looks awesome, raise the value of the car if I decide to sell it in few years

-
if I respray it , I would probably have to do it in the same color as it is now (Moon Grey), but to be honest, I don't really like the color, it's much too boring for this car(would rather have Electric Blue or Red, or maybe turn it to red LE theme)
-
if I respray it in a different color, it could cause some problems, because I'm not taking the windows out, cause it costs too much, and the paint might peel at the windows....

Vinyl:
+
it costs the same as the respray because a friend of mine can wrap the whole car for like 700€ with the material included, any color I want..
+
if any damage was to come (in parking, slaming doors, etc.)
the vinyl can be replaced and won't even notice the color difference, as to respray when someone bumps your car, and if you respray that area, it's never the same color and that just irritating....
+
much less work and striping
+
would like much nicer as I can vinyl it in any color...

-
it can't be polished
-
how long does vinyl last? 5 years?
-
don't know if it would raise the value of the car, if I decide to sell it...

So ....respray or vinyl? What would you choose and why?
Oh and, this is my coop, will be fiited with LE kit and m3 lip spoiler...
What color would you choose, what color should I respray he rims?

VIS on 18 big ones

Just think how a vinyl wrap will look if you get a bad scratch.....

It'll look fine as you can just replace the section that get scratched...

I'd be interested in how you'd get on wrapping a Coupe though as there aren't the breaks in panels that most cars, the roof to rear wings is probably the biggest expanse.

You could get around it with pin stripe or colour change to try to hide the join in the vinyl but I don't think you'd be able to get a single sheet big enough, not to mention fitting it!

At that price, I'd go for a vinyl immediately. I've asked for mine to be wrapped in pearlescent white and in Belgium the average reference is £ 2700.

I would try plastidip as has a range of colours and easily removed when you want to sell on!

with the pastidip you need a sprayer to do it and the same amount of prep (surface ultra clean etc) is needed for a good finish but the joys are if you dont like it you just rip it off on the other hand vinyl in very good but it shows up defects in your body work or paint like a saw thumb.

im interested in both but im thinking for a top job it will just have to be paint
