20vt... Anyone recognise it? Buying various item to ensure it stays roadworthy! Cam kit first priority then exhaust. No history at all, looks like it's past it's best but I'll try to bring it back!

Viewed in Dunfermline, guy was pretty honest in his description. He had said he put a second hand turbo on, there is no smoke at all so it looks as though he may have! Paint works a bit tattie and it's due a belt change. I've been looking at belt kits. Also has god aweful brake squeal!

Even more high end priced coupe's have small issues, I think you got a bargain. Some coupe's just look "right" yours is one of them, good ones are going up in price now so a restoration would be worth it.

I thought it looked good for the money too when I went to see it, hadn't heard brake squeal before though lol put me off a bit but I read here Shims may or may not sort it out.
I was thinking of getting one of those exhausts from eBay that some on the forum have (cybox) and cleaning it up a bit. It does look a little rough but hopefully I can clean it up. I was originally looking for an MR2 Turbo when I seen this, so I still have about 1k to spare doing it up.
Wheels are a must... Pretty bashed, exhaust is past it's best, center consol looks like a cat has attacked it, dent in bonnet on the nose and one rear light cup is a bit perished. Also cloudy headlights. I will aattempted to take these off using the "how to" and give them a clean. (soapy water?)

A lot of cars can suffer brake squel, sometimes it's lazy mechanics that only add cooper slip to the piston side of the pad and don't do the sides where the sliders are.
Don't focus on any modifications gift a while just focus on msintanence for a bit, doing this will pay off in the end. You could spend loads on bits n pieces but when you end up breaking down it isn't fun even if you have all those tasty bits in your car, trust me been there.
I'd focus on belts, service, underseal, and check over by a fiat coupe specialist.
Once that's done you can start to have some fun with a fruity exhaust and getting it remapped etc.

Mine squeals like it has a starring role in the movie Deliverance. Annoying as hell, but fun to watch the pedestrians jump. Brakes work fine though. Radio drowns it out if loud enough. I focused on getting the belts done, radiator, CHOD(coolant hose of death) etc. to make sure that it will be with me for a while. I had to do the exhaust as it was falling off. Got a good deal on some wheels from the ever super helpful Nismo. Next is clutch, underseal and a few more pipes etc. Then I will focus on the performance stuff. Only goinng to do stage 1 stuff and general cleanup. Going to try keep as standard as possible so it will be treading the paths of Hertfordshire for a while

Looks a bargain for 500 notes. As said, get the belts done and concentrate on the cosmetics afterwards. Good luck with it

Welcome to the Porto club Ryan. What to spend depends on what you want to do with her? How rusty is it underneath?
