Got a weekend Coupe. What are peoples opinions on putting gtec 1 chips into there coupes?

if your looking for abit more power then the gtec 1 works very well for the money but its worth checking the fueling on a rolling road just to make sure everything is ok .

Yep. I am looking for a lil bit more power. Always told to say away from chips. But I have very good stories about the GTEC 1's.

there is always Fc performance for a live remap if you have the funds and the time but if on a budget then you can't go wrong with a gtec 1 chip and PM GrahamL on the forum for a original gtec 1 chip and not a ebay copy unless bought from trumax aka GrahamL .

I echo Nismo's comments. Great chip developed by Graham for the 20VT Coupe, just check the fuelling.

ive had mine for 5 years. always planned to get the fuelling checked but never got round to it. (Would recommend it though)

Done 40k miles since without any issue other than the clutch slipping at lower revs on boost due to a spike in delivery on mine. This was also after a new clutch fitted!!

Best £25 for 25hp. Cant go wrong.

I ran one for a while with no problems, squeezed 254 bhp out with no other mods on my local dyno, probably more like 240 on a better dyno or 225 at surrey rr

i got one from GrahamL a few weeks ago, litterally a 10 min change time max,easier to install the chip than it is to install an induction kit and quicker than filling up the petrol tank. have definitely noticed a vast improvement in general grunt , boosted up to a max of 1.1 and delivery of said power seems much smoother.

definitely get 1.

229bhp for my GTEC1 coupe at SRR and I might add a near perfect fueling trace
