Following on from various interest shown in the Welsh meet thread .I thought I'd throw together a basic plan for a meet when the weather 'should' be better to take in the great Cheddar Gorge!! I'm suggesting the usual premise of we all meet up,go for a drive to Cheddar, meet others there who are coming from different directions etc...Go for another drive to somewhere for a spot of lunch then a little afternoon blast and then home etc etc... I was thinking along the lines of two meeting points. One for North of cheddar and the other for South.. North being The Globe Inn in Newton St Loe between Bath and Bristol. It has a massive car park to cater for many coupes As well as offering a great scenic driving route to Cheddar via the Chew valley lake.Good access from the M4 and Bristol too. South being The Clarks Village in Street, just outside Glastonbury. Again it has a giant car park for yet even more coupes It too offers some nice roads driving up to Cheddar if my memory serves me well. Not far from the M5 as well. Routes: Route from The Globe Route from The Clarks Village Perhaps both meeting parties meet at 10:00am at their respective locations and leave each place at 10:30 am to head for Cheddar. Both meeting points are roughly 40 minutes from Cheddar. Then both parties meet at one of the laybys in Cheddar Gorge... As for the lunch, does anyone have a suggestion? So there we go!Add yourselves to the list!Let's make this a big event guys and girls!! Globe Meeting Point 10am 1.Jon13 2. 3. 4. 5. Clarks Village Meeting point 10am 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Having missed the Welsh meet it would be good to get to this one, especially as it's much closer to home. It is the day after I get back from holiday, so I'd better bag a few brownie points now to earn my right to attend!

I might join you if that's ok, the Globe is only about 10 minutes from me. Will the Gorge resurfacing be finished by then, I understand it is closed at present?
Cheers

I should be ok for this one - always good for a meet, with some decent pubs around for food as well. I think the resurfacing is taking place in the evenings and should be finished by this weekend. Some Videos of past meets (two from Cheddar) can be found Here! - the first one made by Dave with input from Nigel.

Jon do you know any pubs we can stop at to grab a Sunday lunch? No mate, was hoping someone else might know of a decent one but I'll have a look around online...

The list is coming along nicely!!! Following up on the pub side of things.I'm going to suggest The Somerset Wagon as I've been there a few times and it's a great little country pub with warm, friendly and helpful staff and the food is great!! With the Roast dinners starting at £8.95! It is also a 25 minute drive from the Gorge following 90% of one of the Greatest Driving Roads Here's the route... Just got off the phone to them and they'd be more than willing to accomadate us.
