That looks stunning!

If it has the GQV engine in a lighter body promising 250bhp per tonne that will make it a good compromise bewteen Elise / Cayman.

The TCT box is praised on the Guilietta section of Alfaowner as a very good box, so should mkae for an entertaining driving experience with the perkiness of that 232bhp engine.

I loved this car ever since it was a concept.
For me there was no affordable car that could move me away from the coupe .... this will be it. The alfa will be around the £40k mark from what ive read elsewhere. They want to eat at the BMW Z4 / Porsche / Elise etc market as you say.

Give it 3 years and this car will be very affordable if following the usual appreciation of Alfas.

For me its defiantly a good contender for the coupe! Better start saving laugh

Thats a beautiful car!!

Definitely would be a replacement for the coupe.

Fantastic to see it actually make production.

I'm just a little concerned by a two metre width...

It looks nice, but there's something a bit awkward about the angle of the windscreen and the height of the roof in the first picture.

I prefer the Alfa Spyder concept:

But I'd happily have both smile

Same here Boosted.... Its nice - Been on t'web for a while now in supposed pre-prod form (even on Need for Speed on the xbox!). If I'm honest I'm a little disappointed with it. Looks too Elise/Exige'ish for me - no bad thing but I wanted more innovation in the aesthetics......... I'm sure I'll eat my words when I see one in the flesh.

There's going to be a limited production of around 2.500 per year. My guess is they won't have the hoped success. Initially they said it was going to be around € 30.000 starting price. Now they're saying double that. The engine is a good one, but it's not known for good mpg and it definately isn't known for making any great noises. Maybe they'll have soundscaped it a bit.

I really HOPE they'll do good and it'll inspire Alfa for some exciting material in the future, but I think they're aiming too high.

Nice but............... if I had the money I'd be heading to the Porker garage and not the Alfa one.

Though... what's the equivalent price of a twenty grand coupe, seventeen years on? Best info using CPI says around thirty grand... If they priced at that, I'm interested, but there isn't a car on the planet I'd pay fifty grand for.

Nice looking (like most Alfas) but the pricing will be key. Lots of technology and no go = a real flop. What is the target audience? If a 1.7l Alfa with 240 ponies comes on to the market at over £30K you will be able to pick up "new" 4Cs in 18 months time for half the money..... I don't think Porsche will be quaking in their boots.

I really don't think that's the case, where are you seeing half price 18month olds?

I cant see prices dropping for several years. Maserati only plan on making 2500 a year. Not many for car also being released in the US as well.

Thats per year not total.

I think the main point is they have limited production speed due to the construction cf chassis.
