I'm pleased to say that we have just come back from the 12 week scan (though found out the baby is actually 13 weeks old) and found out everything is as it should be. I've never been so relieved and happy in my life. As the board and other mods already know we've had a really tough time of it. First my wife was taken into hospital with a suspected eptopic pregnancy at 5 weeks and was then back in hospital due to having hyperemesis at 7 weeks. She now has to take medicine throughout the day and night (so good preparation for when the baby is here) just to stop her from being constantly sick. They are also giving us a consultant due to the fact that during her last pregnancy 12 years ago she had hyperemesis, preeclampsia and a full blood transfusion due to severe lack of iron, and since then has had 7 operations for ovarian cysts and adhesions.

So all in all a lot to worry about, but ultimatly it is all being monitored, the doctors have been amazing and most importantly none of this has affected the baby. So in about 27 weeks from now (due date 21st May so start the betting on the birth and weight) I am going to be come a Daddy, and I have never been so excited about anything in my whole life!!!!

laugh

Congrats, best news i reckon anyone could hear, especially given your tribulations. You do realise though that this completely wipes out any ability for you to complain aout ANYTHING for the next 27 weeks. laugh

Thanks all for the kind words. Strong doesn't even come close to describing my wife. She had spent most her life dealing with physical, and more difficultly, psychological pain and yet here she is smiling and happy. Inspirational is the word I find describes her best, and I am so happy she is having our baby. I truly feel blessed by God (sorry to all you non religious guys out there laugh ).

You may have noticed I'm a bit over emotional about all this lol smile

Wish I could! We have alarms going off in the night because of the medication she has to take, so sadly the most sleep I've had uninterupted in the last 2 months in 4 hours!

So possibly the first recorded case of a baby being woken during the night at regular intervals then smile

I'm sure you will one day laugh

Good luck with trying for a baby. We had plenty of issues on the way, and I know how hard it is as each month passes. You will get there though!

The wife has said you had better be wrong! She is only 5ft nothing, so anything that big would be more that a little uncomfortable!

I trust there was no Italian input into the conception laugh

Many congratulations TV, you will soon experience emotions like you've never known before. It's like real life but in high definition and Bose sound, and some of the technicolor moments are just too vivid cool

As I said ours turns 1 next month, and its been a great year, hard work and sleepless nights, but the wife seems to get used to it fairly quickly box
