I would most likely be interested in this, great developement project Barnacle.

One thing, it would be AMAZING if you could get it to work on the airbag ecu's (all of them if possible)?? Is that a big ask?

It's not a big ask, but it's a short answer: I decided a long time ago when I first roughed out the startrek software that I'm not talking to any of the safety related ecus - airbag or abs.

So, sorry, no.

Insufficient information for the VIS model I'm afraid, so no chance of that one.

iOS will only happen once there's a working Android version which will then be fettled by Sedicivalvole to work on the apple.

I don't want one Neil (as I don't have a coupe anymore), but if its anything like the previous Widget/Startreks then it will be an excellent product and coupe must have.

You fancy doing one for an RS6? It has a Motronic 7.1.1 ECU!

Wonder if there is a way of data logging? So for instance testing and recording data when on load?

Heck, I might even get an Android if you come up with the app.

Data logging with an option to export to Excel or similar would be really useful smile

Sounds like an excellent idea to me!

Thats me completely sold on it.

A facility to data log and record error codes etc when on load when we encounter issues is certainly worth its cost.

How about hard wiring it? Many android devices now allow an input over micro usb.

We're you there Pinin?

Depending on how it progresses and how it's made I will try to port or get it rewritten in Objective - C / Coca Touch.

Does what we need, but for OBD compatible systems; you speak OBD at it, not the ECU specific code we need.

If you should decide to do 16v then im a definate. Sold my widget to coupedummy a long time ago, before i realised i would be buying another coupe. Would have to buy an android though as im about the only person in the world with a windows7 phone.

Ok..Neil to relight this thread..

Have you checked out Ubuntu phone yet? May make this project somewhat easier as they are looking to utilise the same platform accross all devices,

Sad to say it's currently very low on my to-do list... too many other things on the go and writing code all day leaves me a bit drained in the evenings.

Holy thread recall,

As things have moved on and the widget is such a great piece of kit I wondered if this could evolve given new tech on the market as we can no longer buy it.

I'm thinking of using a raspberry pi? You can get a case with an inbuilt screen now also for very little money also.

Is it possible for star trek to run on a Linux based system? Using existing cables etc and plug into a pi? Possible bootable from an sd card

Just speculating really
