Noticed that my headlights are looking pretty shabby. The plastic needs a good clean. Seems to be the lacquer coating I need to to remove and was wondering whether is ts a good or bad idea to use some kind of thinners on them? Or do I follow this guide instead:

http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/documents/howtoguides/Refurbishingtheheadlights.pdf

Only asking as it may be an old guide and someone might have found a better method

Cheers

Never tried thinners but paint stripper is a no no. I know someone who tried it and didn't get great results, green and cloudy I think was end result.
I've used the how to method three times now and changed it slightly every time. It takes a very long time and loads of elbow grease so be prepared!

Ok thanks for the heads up, I will steer clear of the thinners just in case. Time for a bit of hard strubbing then..

I had this on my 16VT - A good pressure wash and they were back to normal without the need for any scrubbing....

Isn't there the classic tooth paste trick as well? Just rub it in. Plenty of elbow grease.
