Feedback.

Or not being able to leave it.

I ordered some bolts and what turned up? Set screws.

So I try to leave neutral feedback stating this, except I'm not allowed to for 7 days. Why? The seller can't remedy the problem in my timescale and the product won't be any more correct after 7 days.

I'm a bit miffed with the seller, but given the cost I won't be taking the time to send them back.
grr

How? Surely Ebay offers some protection (or so they say)

I made the mistake of sending £27 as a 'gift' via Paypal for an eBay item.

Seller refused to send the item I'd paid for or refund the money.

Paypal/eBay don't want to know about it.

Lesson learnt.

irked

now thats wrong, you paid with paypal so you should be covered no matter what.

i paid for something i purchased from gumtree (a sat nav) and paid as a 'gift' as it didnt add charges, but i didnt get it. i got my money back but had to wait around a month in order for paypal to chase it up etc Never using gumtree again.

Then you were lucky MickeyBravo, but it is not wise to be part of a fraudulent transaction - paying as a gift to avoid charges when it is not a gift and those charges are properly payable. If you are complicit in conducting an otherwise lawful transaction illegally the court will normally deny you any legal remedy.

Indeed. The seller pays PP a fee to provide the insurance cover for bad transactions (there's no extra charge to the buyer) and removes that charge from a gift on the understanding that there is no protection.

Can I just expand a little on my Paypal gift problem. I was looking for some new wheel trims for my Mundaneo. They were listed on eBay but were collection only. He lives in Ipswich and me in Warwickshire so pick up wasn't going to be possible.

I contacted him asking if he'd be prepared to send them, obviously at my cost. He said he'd waIt until the auction ended and contact me if they didn't sell.

They didn't sell, we agreed a postage price and he 'sold' them to me at his reserve price.

I certainly didn't do it to get around any fees, I was just too trusting frown
