Ah, Huntsman spiders. We have them around our house and they are totally harmless. They do eat other insects so are great at contolling other "creepy crawlies".
We also get the occassional Redback which are poisonous and can give one a nasty bite. We have learnt to live with them and be wary of them.
On my favourite island "downunder", the heritage listed Fraser Island, one can find Funnel Web spiders which are more venomous that the famed Sydney Funnel Webs. One just has to be careful to check before sitting on a log etc in the rainforest.
We have learnt to live with all our venomous spiders, snakes, jellyfish etc!
