Dave, I did a lot of reading of 'what suspension' threads but learned that everyone has an opinion of the ride quality of eibachs. Where one person said the ride quality was firm but not crashy, another one was saying they're too hard. I've tried them and they're not for me. (This has been moved to the handling section anyway, so is just another ' what suspension' thread laugh ). If I had gone out in a coop with a bilstein/eibach setup, I know I would have thought no way am I putting those on my car smile

Personally I prefer a smoother ride hence going back to standard. I'd like to try bisteins and standard springs but because i've not got the skills/tools to do it myself, i'd paying a garage to fit them.
I'm just not prepared to pay a garage to replace the eibach springs and leave the bilsteins to potentially find that the ride isn't as smooth as i'd like, to have to go back there with standard shocks and pay out more money. I'm just going to go back straight to standard.

If I was happy on my old knackered standard suspension, then a new set will be amazing, especially as I can't stand the rattling and creaking of the interior which is 100X worse on a bad road if you've got Bilsteins/Eibachs on.

I like the lowered look but have become tired of the crashy ride just recently (never used to be as bad, maybe it just exaggerates the gradual wear in other components, but the poly bush lower arms are not that old, not the drop links) - it's as if the whole front suspension is shaking itself to bits. I've still got the old springs, maybe I'll just get the Monroes and forget the Eibachs (again) for now, it should handle better that standard anyway with the front upper & lower struts and the larger rear anti roll bar.

I really can't believe you're finding it that bad Duncan. My billie/eibach combo I'm running with standard 20vt wheels are not hard or crashy at all. But there again that's probably due to the additional handling mods my 20 has (Upper & lower front strut braces, front and whiteline rear ARB, rear aluminium bushes to name a few)

One day I'll take you for a spin, most agree that this car handles very very well.

Dan, I went out for a ride in 'OO7's coop a couple of weekends back, same setup as mine. Exactly the same ride, so I knew it wasn't an issue with the components or installation, that's how it is.

Just ain't my cup of tea, much prefer the smooth ride, the coop to me is a GT car and I like comfort and I don't care if that makes me sound like a girl laugh

Wouldn't mind going out for a spin in your car, hopefully I can still make the South Coast christmas meal or whenever.

I'm still switching back to standard though smile

What ever happened? Did you go back to standard? Or did you try Billies/Eibach?
