Forum power, please:

Anyone got any experience on whirlpool baths? One person version. Friend said that most people who get one find it doesn't make any difference, get bored, and wish they hadn't. Any similar or differing experiences?

When I've used ones on trips away, the novelty has work off very quickly.

A key thing I would say with bathrooms (having just spent a vast amount of money on one) is trying to limit the number of things that can go wrong - or ensure accessibility. To me it's just one more unnecessary thing to maintain/go kaput. Took long enough to find a bath that was comfortable to lie in/sit in - without all the fripperies!

My outlaws have one; this worked brilliantly to encourage my children to have a bath a few years ago when visiting, and encouraged them to have an early night (so the oldies could get stuck into the bottles downstairs). It doesn't quite have the same effect now they are 17 and 15 rolleyes .

A nice gimmick, but the novelty DOES wear off. Cheaper and more reliable to have a Vindaloo and baked beans.... wink

Had my bathroom done 2 years ago and a jet bath would add £1k onto a £4k bathroom and I couldn't justify it.

The only reason to get one is if you will be renting your place out to holidaymakers; they will love it.

But you will quickly get bored of it and begin to wonder about how hygienic or otherwise it is.

Tip: if you do get one, clean it with dishwasher tablets.

They are noisy. Just bath a few hours after a good curry and that way you can make your own wink

Got it and never use it. They also require cleaning which involves filling the bath up with warm water, adding the proper cleaning fluid and running for 15 minutes. zzz
