While fitting a replacement head unit, I noticed that my aerial plug which connects to the back of the head unit is broken. Thinking of buying something like THIS as a replacement. Will this work?

Also does anyone know how to actually connect up a new plug? I think the aerial has an inner wire contained within a plastic surround and then an outer bunch of copper wire, so I'm not sure exactly how to solder it up.

There are tools that take care of this for you, like a BNC connection you trim the outside copper wire a bit, then with a special set of pliers you 'press' the plug around the cable. Although to be honest (like regular stereo headphone wire or RCA plugs) you can just group the outside copper wire together and there are just two tabs to solder the wire to. It WOULD marginally affect the shielding of the plug itself, although there are plugs with a metal surround that touch the copper shielding wire and take care of the shielding of the plug to prevent interference in the plug.
