I'm playing with the idea of getting a 20VT, which is largely dependent on getting a job with a pay increase in the next few weeks to make living and running a 20VT a bit more comfortable than it might be at the moment.
I've got a 1998 R 20V n/a and really wanted to know if my idea of its value is fair:
Its a 1997 R, 20V n/a in speed red. Has nearly 114k on the clock with a full service history. Owned by me since Nov 2009 and acquired via Nigel on the forum after the last owner was talking about junking it. The body is pretty straight with no major dents or dinks, however the paintwork whilst shiney is very patchy and the colour difference in places under forecourt lights etc is noticeable. Very light rust blistering on the sill at the moment on one side, but otherwise pretty clean. Basically it looks ok but would need a respray to be concours again.
Has had a lot of work done including new belts in Nov 09, (15k on them), new front brakes, new rear bearings, new radiator, replacement VIS manifold, new brake compensator valve, Longlife stainless exhaust system (mild) and annual servicing - carried out by Solo Italia and Motor-Mech. Lots of other bills and receipts from past owners, fully stamped book.
All 3 keys present
Car has a leather interior (retro fitted) but the original cloth interior too, JVC CD player.
Generally good tyres (Pirelli) and wheels OK, bit of refurbishment would improve them.
Realistically I'm thinking somewhere around £750-£800 - does that seem fair?
