Was with them in 2007 but their renewal, then, was far too expensive. So I have been with FLUX (Highway) for the last few years on a 5000 miles per year limited policy.

This years renewal came in at £380 so I tried the comparison sites and with all mods declared Admiral quoted £279 shocked I know that the mods are not covered like for like but everything else is the same other than lower excess for claims & screen, there are also no restrictions on the use.

All seems really odd, especially after the fiasco we had a few months back with the Alfa, a renewal something like £800 more expensive!

Gone Audi mad!

Well this is interesting. Admiral seriously did NOT want my business the other day. I had an argument with them because they REFUSED to provide me with a quote because my coupe has a forge DV. Even after I explained that I only replaced the original DV with the forge item because the original one is a cheap and nasty plastic item that is prone to failure (and made my coupe moo like a mad cow), they still wouldn't budge. In fact, the guy stated that admiral "will not insure any vehicle with a dump valve at all"!

Very odd! Maybe they've lightened up a bit on the mods front. confused I ended going with Noel Dazely for £550 with all mods covered.

Bob,

Admiral will not really want your car when they know all the mods.
It's modified too much. As you know I was insured with them, but they would not cover the car with a strut brace as it " made it more attractive to thieves"

This year I moved the coupe's insurance away from them through Neil Willies, but left the Grande Punto with Admiral.

Slightly higher premium as it is no longer on a multicar policy, but much more appropriate cover including, declared mods, guaranteed buy back if written off, and agreed value which will enable me to replace mine with something in comparable condition should it be badly damaged.

You get an extra 10% discount as a club member too from Neil Willies.
