Hi,

Done some serious thinking about having my car lowered but haven´t decided yet. I have a set of Bilsteins lying around from the group buy and have been considering to get some springs as well.

I have read that the Eibach/Bilstein is regarded as a good setup. However, I´d like to know if anyone has experience with a Novitec/Bilstein setup and know how it compares to the Eibach/Bilstein setup?

I was under the impression that Novitec springs are rebranded Eibachs, but don't take my word for it as I'm not 100% sure.

most of Novitec stuff is Eibach, albeit the quality ( for some odd reason is not as robust ! ).

ARBs are ok, but the old pair of rear novitec springs I had just crumbled with rust !!

Eibach all day I'm fraid smile

Novitec were 40mm, Eibach were 30mm so I don't think they are the same.

Remember Novitec are a bit on the serious side, they tend to develop stuff on their own (they did make the first ever usable aftermarket chip for 20VT, etc etc)

Anyhow, 40mm lowering instead of 30mm will probably mean less comfort. There's also a risk of being further from the Bilstein "normal" damping range.

All springs rust aswell, my Eibach's too.

Acually found out some more stuff about the Novitecs at the Fiat Coupe Freunde forum (German FCC).

They are actually quite a bit stiffer than the Eibachs but great for handling... There where even some bespoke Novitec shocks as well for a while.

The Eibachs lower 35 for 20VT and 25 mm for 16VT I believe....

Thinking about relieving CountryCruising of his "compressed" (20mm shorter standard springs) and pairing them up with my new Bilsteins. Could make for a lowered look with standard comfort and better handling....

That's good to know when you drive on the "smooth" streets of Göteborg laugh
