Steering wheel refurbish

Steering wheel refurbish - 05/10/2023 12:47

The steering wheel in my Coop has been shiny for a number of years, finally got round to making it look better. YouTube showed me how to. I did not buy a kit just a wee bottle of paint/dye. The secret I found was in the preparation, emery strip and sand & sand until you see no more shiny bits, next clean thoroughly with white spirit or what have you, let dry. Use a wee bit sponge to dab on the paint. I did a couple of coats. Do not rub & rub or polish. I have that Matt look again smile A small easy job but satisfying. driving

Just to add, I tried the magic sponge and leather cleaner to no avail.

Oh Jim,

wee this, wee that !

I had a Fiat 500 Dolcevita last week on holiday.
Cream leather steering wheel, slim rim.

Felt super to use. Don't think that it would suit the coupe, but made the windy, hilly roads a joy.
