I was just about to send my meta "control box" to be reset at a cost of around £90.

Have noticed that a few members say they are pants! and that they go off for very little reason deep in the night (dont want that thanks).

Is this true and if so anyone have any recommendations for other systems - dot really want to spend more than £150 as I am just having my wheels re-furbed and fitted with new rubber and the Mrs may start suggesting I am spending "too much" on my weekend hobby car :-)

£90 are you mad. That's £89.99 more than the shitty thing is worth.
Why do you need an alarm anyway, it only tells you after the deed has been done and the Fiat imobilser will stop the car being stolen.

rofl rofl rofl

Thats what I expected.

To be honest Its more being able to use the central locking via a fob (which I dont have) that I want.

But if anyone does have any ideas on decent sub £150 alarms which fit well with the coupe - that would be helpful.

If I were you I would steer well clear of Clifford, I've had a few of them before and they were nothing but greef... I've got a toad ai606 on my coop, was easy to install (I'm good with electrics though) and I bought it brand new off eBay complete with full closure, boot release and pager system for about £150, without the extra bits it was £98 new...

Hi AG

How much should we look to pay for fitting something like the Falcom evo 4 (or any alarm for that matter).

the coupe is just a bog standard fit, saying that i mean it still takes a few hours but its nothing difficult to do.

id say average fitting cost be installers would be in the £120-£150 for your average open shut alarm.

i woulnt bother with thatcham stuff to be honest, you dont get much discount on the insurance and your get slaped for the privlage if it was supplied and fitted

anything like remote start your need to get a transponda cloned and supplied first,
i dont really know the price for that, car lock smiths can do this if you explain what you need

but then your have to rely on the alarms immobilizer to stop anyone hotwiring the car away, but to be honest i would dought anyone could it these days, its more likely they would tow it away and cut the siren
