Before i order a forge recirculating dumpvalve, can someone just clarify for me that it does come with a spring, i.e. standard spring which is green,or do you have to order a spring aswell. It doesnt explaing well enough on the site, and i tried ringing them but i was too late and they had closed. And by the standard spring being i think 5 to 15psi what sort of bhp is that.

5 to 15 psi relates to the boost pressure you're running - it bears no resemblance to bhp.

I havnt got a boost gauge, but i have been told by rog at PI that im running 245 to 250bhp, so im not sure what psi that would be, i have standard turbo, but it has been chipped, manual boost valve, and few other bits by previous owner. So rather than just telling me theres no resemblance of psi to bhp did you not know the answer to my question.

Order the DV006 and ask for the green spring. It usually comes with a blue spring but they'll change it at the factory for you.

I noticed the car was smoother to drive with the green spring.

The answer to your question is to match the spring rating to the boost pressure you're running.

the DV006, if u install it correctly, doesnt rely on spring pressure to hold it shut against boost pressure. this is because boost comes in on the side port, not at the piston face. so the spring only needs to hold the piston closed and doesnt see boost pressure. i run 1.5bar and still use the softest green spring just fine.

vacuum sucks the piston up and opens the DV, so a softer spring should give better DV response.

I asked a question about the colours a while ago and this was the reply I had from Forge:

Hello

And thanks for your e mail , the 006 valve comes as standard with a blue coloured spring inside , this will be fine on a modified car and I would not recommend changing the spring , all will be well

Regards
Peter

i've tried both, the standard spring made the car very jerky (not releasing boost on half throttle) the lightest spring sorted the problem, the car runs very smoothly now.

Yes go for the softest spring (green) it makes it so very smooth and has no issues with high boost.
